UiPath Integrates Best-in-Class UI and API Automation and Enhances Enterprise Scalability in 2021.10 Platform Release
UiPath Expands Market-Leading Solutions on Industry’s Best End-to-End Automation Platform with Over 100 Product Enhancements
Beijing, December 3, 2021 - UiPath (NYSE: PATH), an enterprise automation software company, recently announced the launch of new platform capabilities that enable customers to have powerful capabilities and a simpler, more satisfying experience when discovering, building, managing and running automation processes across the enterprise, thereby further promoting their automation journey.
With the release of the 2021.10 platform, UiPath has strengthened its core Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solution and launched enterprise-level automation capabilities based on UI and API for the first time, providing enterprise-level automation management, reliability, governance and security, and accelerating the way developers build automation processes and users implement automation processes. The new version also provides the advantages of cloud-native architecture through the new UiPath Automation Suite, regardless of whether customers choose to deliver the UiPath platform through local deployment, public cloud or third-party hosting services.
“In the not-too-distant future, automation will become a connecting force across the enterprise, providing digital connections across applications, systems, and software,” said Param Kahlon, Chief Product Officer at UiPath. “Enterprises have fully embraced an ‘automation-first, automation-foundation’ approach to conceive, design, and execute processes. By bringing together new adjacent capabilities into one place and providing seamless integration between them, we can push the boundaries of existing RPA, greatly expand the realm of what developers can do, and exponentially increase and accelerate the overall impact of automation across the enterprise.”
Innovative features include:
UiPath Integration Services: UiPath customers now get powerful API and UI integration, with the flexibility to use any combination of UI and API in a single automation. Developers can now use APIs in UiPath Studio as simply and easily as they use the UI. They can quickly build automations that require APIs, as well as automations that span API and non-API applications and systems, such as those involving modern and legacy technologies. The integration service also supports centralized governance of API access.
Supporting Automation’s Critical Role in the Enterprise: With its endpoint protection integration with CrowdStrike , UiPath becomes the first in the industry to offer endpoint protection for RPA. Mutual customers of UiPath and CrowdStrike can now provide the same level of endpoint protection for robots as they do for employees. This integration greatly improves and accelerates threat hunting, investigation, and remediation while ensuring business continuity, thanks to real-time correlation of events to the original RPA process and the ability to isolate hosts without disrupting business processes. The release also includes new capabilities to scale and govern automation programs. Customers can automatically monitor and maintain key platform elements. For example, Robotic Auto-Remediation, powered by IT Automation built into the UiPath Platform, assesses the environment in which a Robot operates to detect and remediate issues without human intervention.
Accelerate the development and use of automation: For developers, this release includes packages, components, and intelligent "assistants" that speed up builds while standardizing and improving the quality of automation, making it easier to incorporate AI into their automation processes. Developers can bring their enterprise's data science and models from UiPath partners directly into AI Center through the new machine learning operations solution. Developers can now build automation processes for Linux. For citizen developers, it provides OneDrive and SharePoint integration capabilities, and the object library in StudioX can now automatically capture and codify source code and create a library of reusable components. For end users, the new integration between Assistant and UiPath Marketplace makes it easier to automate processes using the fast-growing and easy-to-use application market. This new "select and use" feature brings innovations from UiPath partners to end users' desktops, making it easier for end users to find solutions to meet their daily needs.
Leading the way in cloud-native automation: The Automation Suite takes the best of UiPath Automation Cloud SaaS and optimizes it for delivery on-premises, in the public cloud, or with a hosting partner. This is the industry's first single-install containerized package that provides all UiPath server products containerized through Kubernetes and integrated and delivered with built-in platform management tools. In addition, high availability and scale management are built-in, as well as UiPath's end-to-end support for all products in the package, including platform components and product integrations.
“We’ve been waiting for an on-premises solution to use some of these products, especially Automation Hub and Task Mining,” said Nathan Spencer, head of civilian development at WPS Health Insurance. “Diving deeper into Linux and Kubernetes was already part of our strategic roadmap; Automation Suite pushed us to evaluate these technologies earlier, which will benefit the business as a whole. The fact that all of UiPath’s products are packaged end-to-end into an installable, containerized solution with infrastructure makes installation much faster—which means we can spend more time improving the automation discovery process itself and delivering benefits to the business sooner.”
“UiPath is aggressively growing horizontally and vertically. Horizontally, we are adding more and more products in the automation space, and vertically, we are adding more and more capabilities within each product,” said Krishna Devineni, principal software engineer at Autodesk Intelligent Automation. “Another interesting capability that I am looking forward to is automated operations. As we move towards citizen development, the more governance capabilities we have, the better, so that it is easier to implement best practices and controls, as well as security.”
