Do you remember the 3D image manipulation interface in the movie "Minority Report" where the protagonist Tom Cruise put on gloves and used various hand gestures to zoom, move and rotate the photos, data and images on the 3D screen? I believe that the audience who have watched this movie must have been deeply impressed by the movie scenes after seeing such a novel operation method, and they are bound to express their admiration for the application of this cutting-edge technology.

In the past, such technological scenes could only be seen in science fiction movies to satisfy people's fantasy of future technology; however, with today's technology, the use of new Multi-Touch touch screen technology to introduce it into future computers, mobile phones and other technological products is no longer limited to science and technology movies. For a long time, people have been accustomed to using only a mouse to control computer screens, making it impossible for Multi-Touch multi-point touch screen technology to be fully used in technological products. From the user's perspective, using fingers to operate directly on the screen is theoretically much more accurate than using a mouse. Although this will make the user spend more movement and physical strength, it can bring more fun in the process of control. In addition, there are currently many 3D images or image processing software interfaces that are too complicated to design during the control process. They must be used with a mouse and keyboard, and even many operating methods rely on intuition and experience to obtain the best control method. Therefore, if Multi-Touch multi-point touch interface technology is used to replace the currently used keyboard (buttons) and mouse, it will further reflect the future trend of humanized control interfaces.

Therefore, some people improved Multi-Touch technology to sense multiple contact points at the same time, making the application scope of Multi-Touch technology more comprehensive. According to overseas media reports, Jefferson Han and his research team at New York University have successfully developed Multi-Touch technology for controlling touch screens by gestures, dynamics, or touch. Although the multi-touch screen technology under research has not yet reached the level of holographic projection in movies, if it is only analyzed from the perspective of human control interface, Multi-Touch multi-touch system can still present amazing research technology. Its innovative application is very simple to use, and does not even require difficult learning skills. It will definitely be the main trend of future application software control interface.
Basically, the multi-touch system is just a touch-control method using multiple fingers, just like playing a musical instrument or other two-handed operations; in addition, this system technology can also allow multiple users to communicate with each other at the same time, for example, an interactive TV wall, or directly controlling the computer. The use of this sensory technology is strictly a "sensory-driven" technology, and it can also provide high resolution and use both hands to operate in complex multi-point windows.

In addition, Jefferson of New York University also uses frustrated total internal reflection technology (FTIR). On a 36″x27″ screen, the picture is rear projected, and four fingers and multiple fingers are used to interact with the interface at the same time. What is FTIR? It mainly uses LED light to shine on the inner surface of the plastic to produce light refraction, and the angle of the light needs to be specially designed. For example, if the surface of the plastic is air, the light will be completely reflected, but if there is a material with a higher refractive index (such as skin, fingers), when the glass surface is pressed, the light at the contact point will cause scattered light, and the suppressed internal total reflection technology can be achieved, so that complex geometric manipulation can be performed directly on the screen. As long as you use both hands well, you can control it as you like. (
