[Munich, Germany, August 3, 2023] Small discrete power MOSFETs play a vital role in saving space, reducing costs and simplifying application design. In addition, higher power density enables flexible wiring and reduces the overall size of the system. Infineon Technologies AG (FSE code: IFX / OTCQX code: IFNNY) recently launched the advanced new OptiMOS™ power MOSFET, further expanding its product lineup of power MOSFETs in PQFN 2x2 mm2 packages. This move aims to provide a benchmark solution for the power semiconductor industry, achieving higher efficiency and better performance in a smaller package size. The new products are widely used in various applications, such as synchronous rectification in switching power supplies (SMPS) in servers, communications, portable chargers and wireless chargers. In addition, the new products can also be used in drones for electronic speed controllers of small brushless motors.
The new OptiMOS 6 40V power MOSFETs and OptiMOS 5 25V and 30V power MOSFETs further optimize the proven OptiMOS technology for high-performance designs. The new products are available in an ultra-small PQFN 2x2 mm² package, featuring advanced silicon technology, robust packaging and very low thermal resistance (RthJC max. 3.2 K/W). These new devices have the industry's lowest on-resistance and industry-leading performance indicators (FOMs, QG and QOSS) to achieve excellent dynamic switching performance. As a result, these MOSFET devices with ultra-low switching losses and low conduction losses ensure excellent energy efficiency and power density while simplifying thermal management.
OptiMOS power switches Available in a compact PQFN 2x2 mm2 package, they reduce system size and enable smaller, more flexible geometry for end-user applications. By reducing the need for paralleling, these MOSFET devices improve the reliability of system designs and significantly reduce board space and system costs.
Availability
The new OptiMOS 6 40V Power MOSFET (ISK057N04LM6) has an on-resistance of 5.7 mΩ, the OptiMOS 5 25V Power MOSFET (ISK024NE2LM5) and the OptiMOS 5 30V Power MOSFET (ISK036N03LM5) have on-resistances of 2.4 mΩ and 3.6 mΩ respectively. All of these MOSFET devices are available for order now in a modified PQFN 2x2 mm2 package.
