High power density converters with OVC III: Rutronik offers the 20 W AC/DC RAC20E-K/277 from RECOM
Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH introduces the RAC20E-K/277 , a 20 W AC/DC converter from RECOM’s EK series with high power density . It features an OVC III rating for operation at altitudes up to 2000 m (5000 m for OVC II) and a wide operating temperature range of -40 °C to +90 °C (with derating), making it particularly suitable for harsh environmental conditions such as roadside electric vehicle charging stations, industrial environments, and power supplies in test and measurement applications. In addition, its high power density is also suitable for general household applications and applications with a nominal voltage of 277 Vac. Rutronik offers EK series components and other RECOM products on its e-commerce website.
RAC20E-K/277
The RAC20E-K/277 is designed to measure only 52.7 mm x 27.6 mm, the same as the existing 20 WK series modules, but with a different pinout for compatibility with other industry standards.
This 20 W AC/DC converter features a high 4 kVac isolation rating and can operate at full load over a wide input voltage range of 85 – 305 Vac. The device provides single 5 V, 12 V, or 24 V outputs, each with over 80% efficiency and no-load power consumption of less than 200 mW, meeting ECO guidelines.
The RAC20E-K/277 is certified to UL/IEC/EN 62368-1 and IEC/EN 61558-1/2-16 and meets the Class B standard EMC limits of EN 55032 without the need for additional external components. Standard features include comprehensive protection against output overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit.
Using highly reliable components and advanced design techniques, the RAC20E-K/277 has an MTBF of 830,000 hours at 25 °C, meets MIL-HDBK-217F (GB) standard requirements and is backed by RECOM’s three-year standard warranty.
