[March 29, 2022, Plano, Texas, USA] Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) has expanded its power management product portfolio with the launch of a new series of low dropout regulators (LDO). The AP7387 device can be used in cordless vacuum cleaners, smoke detectors, power tools and other household appliances.

The devices have an input voltage range of 5V to 60V, allowing them to flexibly connect to 5V, 9V, 12V, 24V and 48V rails. The LDO's quiescent current is only 2µA , much lower than competing devices, so very little battery power is consumed, allowing devices with built-in LDOs to operate for extended periods of time.

Although the AP7387 series consumes only 2µA of current, it has a high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) of 70dB at 1kHz, and a fast line/load transient response to help regulate instantaneous changes in input voltage and load current. Both of these attributes make it ideal for noise-sensitive product applications.

The AP7387 device has a rated output current of 150mA and is available in 3.0V, 3.3V, 3.6V and 5V fixed output voltage versions with an output tolerance of ±2%. The device incorporates current limiting, short circuit and overheat protection features to enhance device and system robustness, while also meeting 4kV human body model (HBM) electrostatic discharge (ESD) requirements.

The AP7387 series is available in SOT23, SOT25, SOT89 and U-DFN2020-6 packages.
