SIP-7 DC/DC converter with reinforced insulation and ultra-low isolation capacitance for gate drive power applications
• 2W power, SIP-7 package
• Dual asymmetrical output voltages suitable for IGBT, SiC and GaN gate drive
• Industrial temperature range
• Reinforced insulation that meets safety ratings
• 6 kVDC isolation voltage
• Ultra-low isolation capacitance (typically < 6pF)
• Continuous short circuit protection
Flex Power Modules has introduced the PUC-D2BG series of 2W DC/DC converters packaged in the industry standard SIP-7 format, through-hole.
The series includes nominal 12V, 15V and 24V input voltages, as well as optional dual, unregulated output voltages, which can be used for asymmetric positive and negative gate drive voltages in a variety of semiconductor switches, including IGBT, GaN, silicon and silicon carbide MOSFETS (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors). Unlike many similar products on the market, the PUC-D2BG series has a 6kVDC isolation voltage and reinforced insulation suitable for 250VAC working voltage and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 safety certification.
The PUC-D2BG series is ideal for isolated "high-side" gate drive supplies and has a low isolation capacitance of typically less than 6pF, making it ideal for preventing excessive circulating currents at high dV/dt found in typical bridge applications such as motor drives and inverters.
The product is rated for use from -40°C to +100°C ambient (with power derating) and can be used at full power at +85°C in a convection cooled environment. This performance is achieved by a high efficiency design that typically achieves 80% typical efficiency. The product has no minimum load requirement and provides continuous short circuit protection.
“We offer the new PUC-D2BG series at an attractive price point,” said George Zou, Product Manager at Flex Power Modules. “This part is ideal for gate drive power supplies in industrial applications, where the Flex Power Modules brand is a guarantee of fast technical support, quality and reliability.”
Flex Power Modules has been a technological pioneer in power module development for more than 40 years, ensuring the quality of product design and manufacturing at every stage of its development. The PUC-D2BG series benefits from this long-term experience and has passed comprehensive quality certifications, coupled with highly automated manufacturing to ensure its reliable operation. Flex Power Modules products have ISO 9001/14001 certification and unparalleled technical support as a double guarantee.
This series of products will be available in OEM quantities at the end of March 2022.
