Dialog PMIC and GreenPAK™ combination integrated into Kria SOM vision AI platform
Beijing, China, August 30, 2021 – Dialog Semiconductor, a leading provider of battery management, AC/DC power conversion, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and industrial IC solutions, today announced an expansion of its collaboration with Xilinx, Inc., a leader in adaptive computing. Dialog has been selected to provide power management solutions for Xilinx’s new Kria Adaptive System-on-Module (SOM), which targets visual artificial intelligence (AI) applications in smart cities and smart factories.
Xilinx's Kria Adaptive SOM portfolio is a small, production-ready embedded board that enables rapid deployment in edge-based applications. Combined with a complete software stack and pre-built production-grade acceleration applications, Kria Adaptive SOM is a new way to deliver adaptive computing power to AI and software developers.
The Kria K26 SOM is most efficient at 10W, while Dialog's DA9062, DA9130 and DA9131 PMICs can provide a total of 21.5A, enabling the platform to achieve maximum performance. In addition, Dialog's GreenPAK configurable mixed-signal ICs are used in the Kria K26 and KV260 Vision AI Starter Kits to achieve fully customized power timing, monitoring and power-on reset (PoR) solutions. The highly configurable nature of GreenPAK makes it easy to implement low-cost, small-size, and fine-tunable power timing solutions, truly maximizing system power efficiency.
“The market-leading Xilinx Kria Adaptive SOM leverages Dialog’s flexible and scalable power and GreenPAK solutions,” said Tom Sandoval, senior vice president and general manager of Dialog Semiconductor’s automotive business unit. “Our close collaboration with Xilinx has resulted in a high-performance, fully programmable vision AI platform that will deliver significant benefits to our customers.”
“Dialog Semiconductor’s highly integrated PMIC enables us to deliver the Kria K26 SOM with an efficient power system in a credit card size, helping Xilinx customers fast track their vision AI applications in the retail analytics, security, smart camera, and machine vision markets,” said Kirk Saban, vice president of product and platform marketing at Xilinx.
The DA9062 system PMIC, DA9130 sub-PMIC and DA9131 sub-PMIC offer significant scalability and flexibility advantages while distributing heat dissipation in high temperature environments. Built-in configurable engines enable system designers to easily address power timing, thermal and system control challenges. Dialog’s intuitive SmartCanvas™ GUI simplifies the customization process to achieve an “exact match” power management solution. The result is a highly optimized and cost-effective power management solution that enables the most competitive and differentiated system design. These PMIC devices are available in commercial/industrial and automotive grades.
GreenPAK devices combine analog, digital and non-volatile memory capabilities with intuitive software tools for simple and fast design and prototyping. With GreenPAK devices, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can deliver cost-effective, customized ICs for high-volume applications to market faster with great design flexibility. Dialog offers a broad portfolio of GreenPAK products, including commercial grade and AEC-Q100 Level 1 and 2.
