Digitally programmable three-phase 5kW AC-DC power supply provides a compact and flexible solution - no neutral connection required
June 24, 2021 – XP Power has announced the addition of a digitally programmable three-phase 5kW AC-DC power supply to its high power product line, offering flexible operation and simple low-line input requirements. This series of products is suitable for a range of industries, including industrial electronics, process control, semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, LED lighting, water treatment and test/aging equipment manufacturers.
The new HPL5K0 series offers constant voltage and constant current operation, as well as the flexibility and user configuration required for applications such as LED curing and heating, 2D and 3D printing, battery charging and simulation, lasers, motor control and water treatment.
Importantly, the HPL5K0 Series provides the performance of three-phase (three-wire + ground) power without the need for a neutral connection, which is not typically available in industrial facilities. In addition, a convenient input range (180VAC to 264VAC) eliminates the need for expensive equipment upgrades typically required for high-power applications.
The three modules in this series provide adjustable output voltages of 60VDC, 100VDC and 200VDC and a 5V/2A standby output. All modules are equipped with remote on/off, remote control and power good functions.
The key to the product's flexibility is the unique digital control and wide range of digital interfaces, of which I2C PMBus, RS485 and CANopen are built-in, with RS232 or UART optional. This digital control allows the user to quickly configure (and, if necessary, reconfigure) the PSU via a convenient Graphical User Interface (GUI) without having to change hardware, thus reducing time to market.
In addition to power and advanced controls, the HPL5K0 Series is a compact product measuring only 5.00" x 5.00" x 13.00" (127.0mm x 127.0mm x 330.2mm), allowing it to be used in modern high-density designs.
For higher power or higher voltage applications over 30kW up to 400 VDC, the HPL5K0 series can operate in parallel or series configuration with active current sharing.
The HPL5K0 series is available from stock and has a 3-year warranty.
