PMIC startup Trameto (based in Swansea, Wales) has joined four other startups in the Silicon Catalyst incubation program.
Silicon Catalyst is the world's premier incubator for semiconductor solutions startups. Winner of the 2015 UBM ACE Best Startup Award, Silicon Catalyst and its partners build an ecosystem to facilitate the successful launch of silicon solutions by addressing the challenges faced by emerging companies, including access to seed funding and key industry resources to drive innovation and growth for startups. Silicon Catalyst is headquartered in Silicon Valley and supports entrepreneurs around the world. Silicon Catalyst partners include TSMC, Synopsys, AdvanTest, AutoDesk, IMEC, IMT, Keysight, PDF Solutions, GUC, and Open Silicon.
Trameto is developing a power management IC (PMIC) that can be used with multiple energy harvesting sources called Harvest All.
Other newcomers include: Beam Semiconductor Ltd. (Rehovot, Israel), working on 60GHz/28GHz phased array transceivers; Digital Light Inc. (San Jose, California), developing light field sensors and cameras; Dover Microsystems Inc. (Waltham, Massachusetts), a startup addressing hardware security issues with proprietary IP; and SigmaSense (Austin, Texas), developing tactile actuation and sensing technologies.
