LED lights are widely used in automotive electronics, interior and exterior decoration, advertising design and other industries due to their long life, high efficiency, bright colors and fast lighting speed. Rapidly expanding market demand has led to the vigorous development of the entire LED industry chain, and the technical threshold for producing LED lights has been gradually lowered. A large number of small and medium-sized enterprises have sprung up, and various products have begun to flood the market. After the initial explosive growth, competition between enterprises has shifted from "quantity" to "quality", and measurement and testing, an important link, has begun to be valued by many manufacturers.

1. Research on LED luminous characteristics
In universities, research institutes, and corporate laboratories related to LED, it is often necessary to study the luminous properties of LEDs. In this study, two types of equipment are generally required:
Optical measurement equipment, such as integrating sphere, spectrometer, etc.
Electrical measuring equipment

The main function of electrical measurement equipment is to provide stable driving power with adjustable driving waveform for LED lights and monitor the driving power. In this application field, RIGOL's DG3000 signal source and the current DG5000 have been favored by users. At present, the configuration scheme widely used by engineers is:
DG5072 function arbitrary waveform generator, used to provide PWM modulation waveform. This instrument can provide 1uHz~50MHz, duty cycle 0%~100% arbitrarily adjustable PWM drive waveform;
PA1011 power amplifier, used to amplify the PWM signal power and provide a maximum power output capability of 10W;
DS2072A digital oscilloscope, mainly used to observe various signal waveforms such as drive

2. LED power supply R&D and production testing
As a traditional industry, power supply has a relatively sound testing scheme. However, there are some new requirements for the power supply of LED lamps, mainly focusing on the cost. The cost of LED lamps is much higher than that of ordinary energy-saving lamps, and the lamp beads and heat dissipation cannot be simplified. Therefore, many small and medium-sized enterprises simplify the driving power supply module as much as possible. Therefore, how to use the most streamlined solution to make an LED power supply module that is suitable and has good heat dissipation has become an important topic.
In the area of power supply R&D and design, RIGOL has carefully designed the "Ultra Power Analyzer" power analysis software for engineers. Together with RIGOL's DS4000 digital oscilloscope and voltage and current probes, it can complete the test and analysis of the overall performance of the power supply.
