EPS power supply is used as emergency fire power supply, mostly in fire fighting equipment, such as tunnels, fire elevators, fire pumps, road lighting and other occasions. UPS power supply is used as uninterruptible power supply, mostly in large machine rooms. So, is EPS power supply applicable in the occasions where UPS is used?
The general requirements for UPS applications are: the backup inverter switching time is less than 0.01 seconds, and the online type is 0 switching. The inverter switching time of EPS is generally longer than that of UPS, so general EPS cannot be used in UPS applications. However, if the EPS is specially designed to improve the inverter switching time to less than 0.01 seconds, and the load power supply quality requirements are not high, it can replace UPS and achieve energy saving.
