In view of the chaotic market competition in the LED lighting market, many businesses have adopted a vicious price war. It is also very difficult for consumers to understand LED chips as they have little time.
The main reasons are:
1. No professional equipment
2. All products purchased are finished products, and there are no separate test samples
3. Too little knowledge about LED chips.
First, let's get to know LED chips. What is LED? Simply put, it is a light-emitting diode. In the early years, LED was mainly used as an indicator light in circuits. With the rapid development of technology, LED technology has become more and more mature, and its application areas have gradually expanded. LED has gradually entered the lighting market and is widely used in all aspects of life lighting.
What are the main LED products we are exposed to or know today ? LED TVs, LED displays, LED flashlights, etc. are the most common LED products. For the lighting industry, there are mainly LED ceiling lamps, LED ceiling lamps, LED fluorescent tubes, and LED panel lights that only emerged in 2012.
What advantages does LED have over traditional incandescent lamps and energy-saving lamps that make it an inevitable product to replace traditional lighting fixtures?
The main product advantages are:
(1) Energy saving, low carbon and environmental protection. This is the main advantage of LED products replacing traditional lighting. Compared with traditional incandescent lamps, it saves 90% of electricity and 50% of energy-saving lamps.
(2) Diversified styles. Whether it is traditional incandescent lamps, traditional energy-saving lamps, or even sodium lamps, lighting products have only remained at the stage of bulb and tube appearance. LED lamps now exist in various forms. In addition to LED bulbs and LED fluorescent tubes that cater to traditional lamps, a large number of lamps with different shapes have also been derived, including light strips, light strings, light bars, modules, wall lamps, crystal lamps and other products. Large ones can be LED floodlights and landscape lights used for outdoor advertising lighting and landscape engineering lighting; small ones can be as small as LED light strings as small as mung beans.
(3) Other superior properties, such as no flicker, no lead or mercury, no radiation, high brightness, low heat generation, etc.
Although LED products have so many advantages, from the perspective of practical application, there are still a series of problems in the current popularization of LED. The main reasons are: (1) Core technologies such as chips are in the hands of developed countries such as Japan and the United States, and the number of domestically developed chips is small and the product quality is poor. (2) Although China is vast and rich in resources, there is a blockage of information in rural areas, coupled with backward scientific and technological cognition, the promotion of LED products today is limited to large and medium-sized cities.
Despite this, many businesses have sensed the development trend of LED lamps and are vigorously promoting the popularization of LED lamps. However, in such a fiercely competitive environment, vicious competition in the market is inevitable. The vicious competition in the LED market is mainly reflected in (1) businesses use inferior materials to produce products, which are low-priced but do not protect the interests of consumers. (2) LED is a new product that has only emerged in recent years. The country does not have a complete management system, and product quality can only be determined by the market. (3) The interests of businesses exist in the final stage of the production and manufacturing process, and the profits are extremely low, forcing them to adopt extreme strategies.
Therefore, there are a large number of inferior products on the market. The most obvious one is the replacement of high-quality lamp beads with inferior ones, and the most obvious difference between good and inferior lamp beads is the chip.
How to identify the chip is a very difficult problem for ordinary people. The type of chip determines the quality of the product, the length of its service life and the quality of the lighting effect.
Here we use the simplest method to identify lamp beads.
First of all, the tools we need are:

Step 2: Prepare a high-power LED lamp bead
Step 3: We use tweezers or bare hands to peel off the potting silicone on the surface of the lamp bead and see the sesame-sized LED chip . Then use a magnifying glass to check whether the texture of the lamp bead chip is consistent with the known lamp bead chip. Generally, there is a lamp bead chip description on the outside of the product packaging. (The following are common LED chips)
