LTM4606 Introduction:
The LTM®4606 is a complete ultra-low noise, high voltage, 6A switch mode DC/DC power supply. The switch controller, power FETs, inductor and all supporting components are built into the package. Onboard input filters and noise cancellation circuits achieve low noise operation, effectively reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI). The LTM4606 operates from an input voltage range of 4.5V to 28V and supports an output voltage range of 0.6V to 5V (set by a single resistor). The high efficiency design provides 6A of continuous current (8A peak). The entire design can be completed with only large-capacity input and output capacitors.
The use of high switching frequency and adaptive on-time current mode architecture enables fast transient response to input voltage and load changes without sacrificing stability. The device supports output voltage tracking and output voltage margining functions.
Additionally, the μModule® can be synchronized to an external clock to reduce unwanted frequency harmonics and enable PolyPhase® operation to deliver high load currents.
The LTM4606 is available in a space-saving, thermally enhanced 15mm x 15mm x 2.8mm LGA package, making it possible to utilize unused space on the bottom of a PC board for high density point-of-load regulation. The LTM4606 is lead-free and RoHS compliant.
