1. What is LED display?
LED is the abbreviation of light emitting diode, or LED for short. It is a display method that controls semiconductor light emitting diodes . It is roughly composed of many usually red light emitting diodes, and the characters are displayed by turning the lights on and off. It is used to display various information such as text, graphics, images, animations, quotes, videos, and video signals .
LED display screens (LED panels) are divided into digital display screens, graphic display screens and video display screens, all of which are composed of LED matrix blocks. The display device of the LED digital display screen is a 7-segment code digital tube, which is suitable for making

3. Development History of LED Display
Before 1990, LED display screens were in their formative period. On the one hand, due to the limitation of LED materials and devices, the application of LED display screens was not widely developed. On the other hand, the display screen control technology was basically a communication control method, which objectively affected the display effect. During this period, LED display screens were widely used abroad, but rarely in China. The products were mainly based on red and green dual-color, the control method was communication control, the grayscale level was single-point 4-level gray adjustment, and the product cost was relatively high.
From 1990 to 1995, this stage was a period of rapid development of LED display screens. Entering the 1990s, the global information industry grew rapidly, and breakthroughs continued to be made in various fields of information technology. has basically been formed, and the LED display screen industry has become an emerging high-tech industry.
Since 1995, the development of LED display screens has entered a period of overall steady improvement and industrial structure adjustment and improvement. At the same time, the internal competition of LED display screen industry has intensified, forming many small and medium-sized enterprises, product prices have fallen sharply, the application field has become wider, and a series of new problems have emerged in terms of product quality and standardization. The relevant departments have attached importance to the development of LED display screens and have carried out appropriate norms and guidance. At present, this work is gradually deepening. After several years of development, my country's LED display screen industry has basically formed a group of backbone enterprises with a certain scale. According to incomplete statistics, by the end of 1998, there were more than 20 enterprises with annual sales of more than 10 million yuan, and their total sales reached about 600 million yuan, accounting for more than 85% of the total market of the industry. There are more than 100 enterprises of various types engaged in LED display screens nationwide, with nearly 6,000 employees and an annual sales total of nearly 800 million yuan. The growth rate in 1996 and 1997 remained at about 40%, and it fell slightly in 1998. In the domestic market, the market share of domestic LED display screens is nearly 100%, and similar foreign products have basically no market. The main venue of the 43rd World Table Tennis Championships, Tianjin Sports Center, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, Beijing West Railway Station, Capital Airport, Pudong Airport, etc., were all won by domestic representative enterprises. The technical level is relatively advanced.
4. Application of LED display
Securities trading and financial information display. LED displays in this field accounted for more than 50% of the domestic demand for LED displays in the past few years, and are still the main demand industry for LED displays. The Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange and tens of thousands of securities and financial business institutions across the country widely use LED displays.
Airport flight dynamic information display. Civil aviation airport construction has very clear requirements for information display. LED display screens are the preferred products for flight information display systems (FIDS). Capital Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Haikou Meilan Airport, Zhuhai Airport, Xiamen Gaoqi Airport, Shenzhen Huangtian Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport and dozens of newly built and expanded airports across the country have selected domestic LED display screen products.
Passenger guidance information display at ports and stations. The information system and broadcasting system based on LED display screen, train arrival and departure announcement system, ticket information system, etc. together constitute the automation system of passenger transport hub. Beijing Station, Beijing West Station, Nanchang Station, Dalian Port and other important domestic railway stations and ports have installed products and systems provided by domestic manufacturers.
Information display in sports venues. LED displays have replaced traditional light bulbs and CRT displays. The Tianjin Sports Center, the main venue of the 43rd World Table Tennis Championships, first adopted domestically produced color video LED displays, which were widely praised. Many important domestic sports venues such as the Shanghai Sports Center and the Dalian Stadium have successively adopted LED displays as the main means of information display.
Road traffic Communication Information display. With the rise of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), LED displays are widely used as variable information boards, speed limit signs, etc. in urban transportation, highways and other fields, replacing similar foreign products.
Dispatch Command center information display. Power dispatch, vehicle dynamic tracking, vehicle dispatch management, etc. are also gradually adopting high-density LED display screens.
Business promotion and information display in service fields such as postal services, telecommunications, shopping malls, etc. Domestic LED displays play a role in information display in service fields all over the country.
New advertising media products. In addition to single large indoor and outdoor display screens as advertising media, cluster LED display screen advertising systems have appeared in some cities in China; train LED display screen advertising systems have also been adopted on dozens of passenger trains across the country and are being promoted.
Large LED screen
Outdoor super-large LED display screens mainly refer to large-scale commercial terminal advertising systems used in commercial centers and hung on buildings, with an area generally exceeding 100 square meters.
