With the continuous progress of human society and the continuous improvement of science and technology, humans pay more and more attention to the efficiency of energy utilization. Humans have a special preference for light sources. With the emergence of semiconductor light-emitting devices, the efficiency of fluorescent lamps can no longer meet the needs. A new generation of lighting devices will inevitably be born.
This paper studies the constant current drive of high-power lighting LEDs. It briefly introduces the development history of LEDs, evaluates their development value and trends, especially the energy efficiency of LEDs. Based on the LT3466 chip of Lingte Company, it briefly analyzes it and develops a small LED lighting system.

1.1 Development History of Lighting Devices
Looking at the development of human lighting history, it has mainly gone through three stages: fire lighting, incandescent lighting, and fluorescent lighting. With the breakthrough of the new generation of semiconductor materials, gallium nitride, and the advent of high-brightness blue and green light-emitting diodes, especially white light-emitting diodes (LEDs), the development of semiconductor technology has triggered a new industrial revolution after the microelectronics revolution - the lighting revolution. White LED light sources are expected to become the fourth generation of light sources after incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, and high-intensity gas discharge lamps. Researching and deeply understanding the application of LEDs in the field of lighting is a new issue we face.
The light-emitting mechanism of semiconductor solid-state light-emitting devices is that when electrons and holes recombine in certain special active regions in the semiconductor, photons are generated, and the energy of these photons is related to the bandgap width of the semiconductor. It has been nearly 40 years since the first batch of LEDs entered the market in 1968. With the development of new materials and the improvement of processes, LEDs tend to be high-brightness and full-color. The emergence of gallium nitride blue LEDs has further expanded the application field of LEDs.
