LED lighting has outstanding advantages and wide applications
Initially, LED was only used as a miniature indicator light in high-end equipment such as computers, audio and video recorders. With the continuous advancement of large-scale integrated circuits and computer technology, LED displays are rapidly rising. As a new generation of display media, LED has become a beautiful landscape in modern cities and is widely used in various public places. In recent years, LED has gradually expanded to the field of general lighting, from stock quotes to stock machines, from laptops to digital cameras, from PDAs to mobile phones, from indoor lighting to car lights. LED is everywhere.
The emergence of high-brightness LED is of epoch-making significance. It will be one of the greatest inventions of mankind after Edison invented the incandescent light bulb. The earliest developed LED could only emit red light and was used as an indicator light in electronic equipment. Today, LED can emit various light beams of red, yellow, blue, green, orange, amber, blue-green bicolor, red-green bicolor, yellow-green, pure green, emerald green, and white. In major cities in my country, the dazzling brilliance of LED can be seen everywhere, and LED is changing our living and working environment.
After the semiconductor technology triggered the microelectronics revolution, it is now nurturing a new industrial revolution - the lighting revolution. LED has become a shining symbol of the information age and will gradually replace traditional lighting technologies such as incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps.
Outstanding advantages and wide application
Those who have been to Times Square in New York, USA, may not forget the Coca-Cola advertisements that were high up in the sky, with clear pictures, bright colors, and lifelike images, which were constantly changing under computer control. In fact, as early as the early 1990s, billboards or road lights using LED lighting appeared at Munich Airport in Germany and on highways in France and Spain. When inspecting, there was no need to climb up to open the light box, but only to open the light source box of the light guide on the ground to replace the light source.
LED is charming and has many advantages. In addition to long life and low energy consumption, LED has three greater advantages: first, it is very flexible in application and can be made into thin and short products in various forms of points, lines and surfaces; second, it has better environmental benefits. Since there is no ultraviolet and infrared in the spectrum, there is neither heat nor radiation, it is a typical green lighting source, and waste can be recycled and there is no pollution; third, it is extremely easy to control. As long as the current is adjusted, the light can be adjusted at will. The combination of different light colors is varied. Using the timing control circuit, it can achieve a colorful dynamic change effect.
LED can be used not only for large advertising display screens, but also for architectural and traffic lighting. As the night scene lighting of key urban buildings, LED can be very useful in outlining contours, can simulate any color, and greatly reduce the loss of luminous flux and maintenance costs. Due to its small size, LED is suitable for making linear lamps. LED is made into ground lamps to indicate directions, trails and lanes. It is safe, reliable and durable. In the past, the most enchanting thing in the night sky of the city was perhaps neon lights. However, since neon lights are the easiest to damage, we often see that the pictures and texts displayed by neon lights are always missing arms and legs. If LED is used to replace neon lights as display signs, not only can the regret of incompleteness be avoided, but also the realm of freedom can be achieved.
The reaction speed of a single element of an organic LED display is 1,000 times that of an LCD screen. It can be viewed even under strong light and can adapt to temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius. It is reported that a foreign company is developing a head-stealing viewfinder that places a fingernail-sized high-resolution organic LED display in it. Wearing this translucent helmet display, a pilot can effortlessly view various flight data; a surgeon who is performing an operation can see complex diagnostic images without leaving the operating table; and a flight mechanic can see the maintenance manual of the corresponding component when inspecting an aircraft. What is even more exciting is that wearing glasses made of organic LED displays, you can also happily watch movies with a viewing angle of up to 160 degrees.
