With the development of modern information display technology, a series of large-screen information display products have been formed, including CRT, LCD, PDP, LED, EL, DLP, etc. Looking at the development of various display products, LCD indoor products cover a wide range from 17 inches to 70 inches, 17 inches to 32 inches indoor products are dominated by CRT, 40 inches to 70 inches and even 100 inches will be the market for PDP, and above 100 inches, whether indoors or outdoors, LED display screens have become the mainstream products with absolute advantages.

LED display products are divided into indoor and outdoor display screens according to different usage environments. The luminous pixels include φ3, φ3.75, φ5, φ8, φ15, φ19, φ26, etc. The colors include monochrome, red and green dual primary colors, and three primary colors (full color). LED display screens have become one of the mainstream products of flat panel displays with outstanding advantages and have been widely used in many fields of social economy, mainly including:

(2) Airport flight dynamic information display. The requirements for flight information display in civil aviation airport construction are very clear, and LED display screens are the preferred products for flight information display systems (FIDS).

(3) Passenger guidance information display at ports and stations. The information system and broadcasting system with LED display as the main body, train arrival and departure announcement system, train arrival and departure announcement system, ticket information system, etc. together constitute the automation system of passenger transport hubs, which has become an important part of the technical development and transformation of domestic railway stations and ports.

(4) Stadium information display. LED display screens have replaced traditional lighting and CRT display screens as the main means of displaying game information and live broadcasting, and have become essential competition facilities in modern stadiums.

(5) Road traffic information display. With the rise of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), LED displays have been widely used in the fields of urban transportation and highways as variable information boards and speed limit signs.

(6) Information display in the dispatching and command center. Power dispatching, vehicle dynamic tracking, vehicle height adjustment management, etc. are also gradually adopting high-density LED display screens.

(7) Business promotion and information display in the service fields of postal services, telecommunications, shopping malls, etc.

(8) New advertising media products. In addition to single large indoor and outdoor display screens as advertising media, cluster LED display screen advertising systems and train LED display screen advertising systems have also been adopted and are being promoted.

(9) Performances and gatherings. Large screens are increasingly used for live video broadcasts for public and political purposes. For example, during major festivals such as the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of my country and the millennium celebrations around the world, large screens played an outstanding role in broadcasting live events and publishing advertising information.

(10) Exhibitions: LED large screens are one of the important services provided by exhibition organizers, and they provide paid services to exhibitors. There are also some large professional LED large screen rental companies abroad, and some large manufacturers also provide rental services.

Review of the Industrial Development Stage

Industry formation stage: Before 1990, my country's LED display screens were in their growth and formation period. On the one hand, due to the limitations of LED materials and devices, the application of LED displays was not widely developed; on the other hand, the display control technology was basically a communication control method, which objectively affected the display effect. During this period, LED displays were widely used abroad, but rarely in China. The products were mainly red and green dual-color LED displays, the control method was communication control, the grayscale level was single-point 4-level gray adjustment, and the product cost was relatively high.

Rapid growth stage of the industry: 1990-1995, this stage is the period of rapid development of LED display screens. Entering the 1990s, the global information industry grew rapidly, and breakthroughs continued to be made in various fields of information technology. New achievements continued to emerge in LED materials and control technology. Blue LED chips were successfully developed, and full-color LED display screens entered the market; the technological development in the fields of electronic computers and microelectronics, the emergence of video control technology in the field of display control technology, the grayscale level of the display screen achieved 16 grayscale and 64 grayscale grayscale adjustment, and the dynamic display effect of the display screen was greatly improved. During this stage, the development speed of LED display screens in my country was very rapid, from a few companies in the early stage with an annual output value of tens of millions of yuan to dozens of companies with an annual output value of several hundred million yuan. The product application fields involved financial securities, sports, airports, railway stations, highway transportation, commercial advertising, post and telecommunications, and many other fields. In particular, the development of the securities and stock industry in 1993 triggered a substantial growth in the LED display screen market. The mainstream product situation of LED display screens in the field of flat panel displays has basically been formed, and the LED display screen industry has become an emerging high-tech industry.

Industrial adjustment and development stage: From 1996 to 2000, the development of my country's LED display industry entered a period of overall improvement and industrial structure adjustment and improvement. During this period, the internal competition of the LED display industry intensified, many small and medium-sized enterprises were formed, product prices fell sharply, the application field became wider, and a series of new problems appeared in product quality and standardization. The relevant departments paid attention to the development of LED display screens and carried out appropriate regulations and guidance. By 2000, the overall scale of the industry was close to 1.5 billion yuan.

Industrial innovation and improvement stage: From 2001 to 2005, my country's LED display industry developed steadily, and the overall scale increased year by year. In 2005, the industry scale reached 4 billion yuan. During this period, new technologies and new products of LED display continued to emerge, and a certain professional division of labor appeared within the industry. Professional control systems, basic unit products, and special integrated circuits developed rapidly, and technical specifications and product standards were generally valued. During this period, the performance indicators of LED display screens such as display color, brightness, and viewing angle were continuously improved and improved, and constant current drive control technology and LED special driver ICs were widely used. In terms of product structure and technology, the flatness, heat dissipation and protection level of the display screen have received attention and attention from manufacturers. From the market perspective, full-color LED display screens have been popularized and applied, and LED display screen products have formed a certain export scale. In 2005, full-color LED display screens accounted for nearly 50% of the total market value of 4 billion yuan for LED display screen products nationwide, and the export of LED display screens reached more than 500 million yuan.

Industrial expansion and steady improvement stage: Since 2006, my country's LED display industry has entered a new historical development stage, with the scale of the industry increasing at a faster pace. In 2007, the overall growth rate of the industry reached 44%, and the intensive development effect of the industry was also quite obvious, basically forming two major bases in South China and East China. The development boom of semiconductor lighting has strongly promoted the technological progress of basic materials for LED devices, the cost performance of LED display application products has improved, the application field has become wider, and the market scale has continued to increase. At the same time, LED display products have expanded from large-screen products to various display application products, and landscape display and advertising display have developed particularly rapidly. Major engineering construction such as the Beijing Olympic Games has brought vitality to the LED display industry.
