The LED industry has developed rapidly in the world recently, especially decorative lamps, which are in full swing and widely used in municipal lighting projects such as building outlines, bridges, squares, and entertainment venues such as hotels, KTVs, hotels, and amusement parks. The main components of LED lighting products are: LED light-emitting diodes, PCB circuit boards, and shells. These three materials constitute the main body of lighting products and basically determine the material quality of lighting products.
The following is a brief description of the impact of the selection of three materials on lighting products.
1. LED light-emitting diodes
The brightness of the light-emitting diode is determined by the brightness of the bare core of the LED chip and the package shape of the lamp body, and its life is determined by the working environment and quality of the LED chip. It should be noted here that the standard size of LED chips used in LED lighting products is generally: 12mil for red and yellow, 14mil for blue and green, but there are also 8-10 mil chips. Chips of different sizes can have the same luminous brightness, but their lifespans are completely different, because the greater the overcharge per unit area of the chip, the shorter its lifespan, which is also the reason why the prices of light-emitting diodes of the same brightness are different.
2. PCB circuit board
As the carrier of the light source, the circuit board directly affects the lifespan and failure rate of the lamp. All electronic circuits of LED lighting products are on the PCB circuit board, and its material and processing technology will directly affect the quality and lifespan of the product. The circuit board material is divided into three types: full glass fiber, half glass fiber, and cardboard. The standard material for LED lighting products should be full fiberglass double-sided boards. If half fiberglass or cardboard single-sided boards are used, the subsequent welding quality, moisture resistance, anti-aging ability and electrical properties will be greatly reduced.
3. Shell The
shell, as a light mixing layer and protective layer of the lighting product, also affects the effect and life of the lighting product. The engineering plastics currently used are generally PC (polycarbonate), which has the best anti-aging, UV protection and impact resistance. PMMA (acrylic) is also used, which has slightly worse weather resistance and is brittle and easy to break. The PC material itself is colorless, and different colors of PC tubes can be processed by adding different colorants as needed. Generally, the commonly used PC tubes are transparent and milky white. The brightness of transparent tubes is higher than that of milky white, but the color mixing of milky white is better than that of transparent tubes.
