The burglar alarm system has been developed in China for more than 30 years. It is one of the earliest developed subsystems in China's security system. However, compared with the penetration rate of more than 40% in foreign countries, the development of burglar alarm products in China has been lukewarm, and the penetration rate in residential communities has not exceeded 15%.
Anti-theft alarm application status
All anti-theft alarm systems used in smart communities are almost all "factory settings" for the communities - after the developers build the houses, they install the anti-theft alarm systems through engineering companies and integrators, but the owners, as the final users, do not have the right to understand and choose the anti-theft alarm systems. The anti-theft alarm systems have become more of a vanity project for developers to enhance the selling points and added value of the communities. After the communities were delivered to the owners for use, the developers had already left, and they basically turned a blind eye to whether the systems were activated and whether they were operating normally.
The right to choose the anti-theft alarm system lies with the developers and integrators, while the final user is the owner. This phenomenon of separation of purchase and use causes buyers to be indifferent to the quality stability and after-sales service of the system, and users also lack the necessary understanding of the system.
Before 1999, only a few real estate developers planned and designed anti-theft alarm systems when building real estate. After 2000, many real estate projects in first-tier developed cities began to build smart communities. For example, in Shenzhen, smart demonstration communities such as Meilin Village 1, Yitian Village, and Caitian Village all designed anti-theft alarm systems. However, the application of anti-theft alarms in these communities is worrying. Very few are used normally, and they are basically useless. The products that were bought at a high price have been quietly shelved, and the spider silk has covered the carved beams, becoming a collection that has been shelved.
Burglar alarm systems are often sold and used as industrial products. They are highly specialized, complex to operate, and require complicated procedures such as remembering passwords and programming. It is difficult for many people with low education or older age to use them correctly. For a long time, there was no host with a Chinese operating interface on the market. Most manufacturers' products directly copied Western programming modes. Westerners are used to using complex programming modes, and even the menus are in English. These are obviously not in line with Chinese cultural habits. The complex operation makes users daunted, and it is expected that they will not adapt to the local environment.
In some smart communities that have installed anti-theft alarm systems but have not activated them, the feedback from owners is basically the same: too troublesome: remembering passwords, arming and disarming, it is unbearable and laborious. Every time I go home, I have to press the "disarm" button on the operating console and set the password, which is exhausting. If an outsider comes in and does not enter the password in time to unlock, the alarm will sound for a long time, "very annoying!" And some systems connected to the community guard station sounded for a long time but no guard came to patrol, and they did not play the desired effect at all. The guard station is also full of complaints: too many false alarms, they have become numb to the warning of "wolf coming".
Of course, some manufacturers have also begun to reflect on and improve this phenomenon, and started to develop a new generation of burglar alarm host that suits the habits of the Chinese people.
In the eyes of many people, the anti-theft alarm system composed of infrared rays, detectors, etc. is still a high-tech category in movies, which is far away from their own lives. An owner living in Yitian Village, Shenzhen, told the author that most people in the community do not know how to diagnose and use the anti-theft alarm system, and some have never heard of it and do not know what it is used for.
In fact, as a general intelligent community anti-theft alarm system, its technology has long been mature and is widely used in our daily life. The embarrassment of the anti-theft alarm system is also the result of the lack of popularization of the concept of anti-theft alarm in the entire industry. Unlike terminal electronic consumer products, anti-theft alarm is indeed a highly professional industry. From the sales link to the purchase and use link, it is an industry behavior, and the end consumers know very little about it!

How to solve the problem of the owner setting up security at home in the application of intelligent anti-theft system?
Determine the scope of protection according to the room situation:
The two balconies and the front door are the most vulnerable to intrusion; the second is the windows of the kitchen and study (because the study and kitchen are usually >unmanned, especially at night, and we usually don’t have the habit of closing the kitchen windows, which can easily become the entrance for thieves); the third is the master bedroom①, the children’s room② and the bathroom③;
At this point, we have a clear idea of the areas that need to be protected, and we have also determined the priority of the protection areas (the figure shows the intrusion locations according to the priority of protection)
Determine the defense zones and the defense methods and equipment for each zone
After knowing the locations and areas that are vulnerable to intrusion, you should decide the number of points to be defended based on your surrounding environment, community security measures, family environment and your economic situation (of course, it is best to defend all vulnerable areas). Here, we will take the example of defending all the above areas and configure various anti-theft devices. You can add or reduce related devices according to your specific situation:
Standard configuration (JD-X305):
The disadvantage of using an economical host is that if you walk around the room, the alarm will be triggered. To solve this problem, you need to choose a host with home and away deployment. Take JD-X305 as an example. Install one wireless curtain infrared in the children's room, master bedroom, and living room, one infrared detector in the study, and one door magnet in the windows of the gate, study, kitchen, and bathroom. In this way, we have completed a basic home anti-theft system, and installed dual detection equipment in key defense areas (gate, study). The equipment is as follows:
1 JD-X305 host, 3 wireless curtain infrared, 1 infrared detector, 4 door magnets
The basic configuration can realize the following functions:
During the day, use "Away Arm" and all detectors will be in alert status. At night, use "Home Arm" when someone is at home and indoor detectors such as the infrared in the study will not work. Your family members can walk around the house freely, but if the doors and windows of the main door, study, kitchen, and bathroom are opened or pried open, causing the door or window to shift more than 1 cm, or if a person breaks into the balcony, children's room, or study in the armed state, the system will sound the siren and automatically call the pre-set 1-6 phone groups in a loop to alarm, and the alarm location can be accurately known through the eight defense zone displays on the panel.
Conclusion: If we want to make China's anti-theft alarm industry achieve greater development, in addition to the intelligentization and simplification of products, a more important method is to carry out a revolution of penetration into the terminal civilian market. In this way, the anti-theft alarm industry can truly escort the safe and secure lives of the majority of residents and truly enter thousands of households.
