As one of the indispensable equipment in the field of electronic measurement, the oscilloscope is increasingly widely used and has become a powerful tool in daily work and production. 8 out of every 10 engineers in the world trust and use Tektronix oscilloscopes. Tektronix has a comprehensive series of digital oscilloscopes, basic oscilloscopes, mixed domain oscilloscopes and high-performance oscilloscopes. So how to maintain the oscilloscope so that it has a longer life and maintains good performance for a long time? Agitek technical engineer Zheng recommends taking the following precautions:

1) Testing before use

1. Check whether the power cord of the oscilloscope is damaged;

2. The plug of the power cord and the wiring in the power strip must be tight and reliable to avoid electric shock or short circuit accidents during use;

3. Read the instructions carefully and make sure the probe and impedance are matched before testing. The voltage of the probe must not exceed the input voltage allowed by the oscilloscope Zda.

2) Check grounding

Grounding can not only ensure the safety of operators and make the instrument work normally within a safe range, but also ensure the stability and reliability of the test waveform and reduce external interference.

3) Anti-static

When using the instrument, you must wear an anti-static wrist strap and follow the anti-static process.

IV) Daily maintenance (taking TDS3014B as an example)

1. Signal path compensation.

(It can correct DC errors caused by temperature changes or long-term drift. It needs to be compensated once every three weeks on average. It should be used after the oscilloscope is warmed up.)

2. After the oscilloscope is turned off, it cannot be turned on immediately. It needs more than ten seconds. After the test, the probe should be properly stored and the channel should be capped to prevent dust from entering.

3. When using the instrument, pay attention to ventilation and heat dissipation, avoid an environment that is too humid, keep it clean and dust-free, and remove dust from the instrument regularly.

5) Fault diagnosis

If you find a problem with the oscilloscope during use, you can perform the following tests to help determine whether the instrument is really faulty, because external interference or connection problems can cause faults:

1. Verify whether the square wave is normal

2. Check input impedance: measure 50 ohms and 1M ohms respectively

3. Self-examination:

Go to UTILITY, select Accessibility Page, and find the self-diagnosis.
