Insulation resistance testers are usually called megohmmeters or high resistance meters. They are widely used to measure the insulation resistance of generators, motors, wiring, electrical appliances and other electrical devices. The instrument uses Ohm's law to measure the resistance. If the insulation resistance changes greatly, it may indicate a potential fault. Therefore, when testing, we calibrate the megohmmeter regularly to ensure that there are no safety problems or faults in the instrument itself. So what is the working principle of the insulation resistance tester? Is it easy to operate? Today, the editor will give you the answer.
1. Turn on the power switch "ON", select the required voltage level, press the indicator light to indicate the selected voltage level, and the stable value displayed on the LCD is the insulation resistance value to be measured. To turn off the high voltage, just press the high voltage start-stop button, and press and hold the "OFF" button when turning off the power;
2. When measuring insulation resistance, you need to disconnect the tested product from other power sources, short-circuit and discharge, connect the special test wires equipped with the meter in sequence, insert the red tester into the meter, disconnect the tested product from other power sources, short-circuit and discharge, insert the white core wire of the black shielding wire into the "L" end of the meter's line, and connect the other end to the conductive part of the tested product that is insulated from the earth. When testing the insulation resistance between components of electrical products, the "L" end and the "E" end can be connected to any set of wires;
3. There should be an appropriate distance between the two wires and between the wire and the ground. The insulation of the measuring soft wire leading out of the insulation resistance tester terminal should be good to avoid affecting the measurement accuracy.
4. After the insulation material resistance network tester is safely used, the test result will be displayed on the ground resistance display after the test is completed. When the second test is performed, you can automatically press the "test button" again, the ground resistance meter will stop the high voltage output, and recalculate and display the test result.
