2. Measurement requirements for hot melt adhesive powder
Hot melt adhesive powder is widely used in the rotational molding industry such as clothing, automobile interiors, large hollow containers, water tanks, toys, and incubators due to its strong stability, high viscosity, and no odor.
In the entire production process of hot melt adhesive powder, accurate measurement of the high and low material levels of the finished hot melt adhesive powder silo is indispensable. However, due to the characteristics of hot melt adhesive powder itself, the instrument measurement requirements are relatively special, which are particularly reflected in:
1. The instrument should have good sealing performance and high protection level.
The powdered hot melt adhesive makes the on-site environment extremely harsh. If the sealing of the instrument is not good, it will affect the stable operation of the instrument. In view of this special working condition, the instrument protection level should reach IP65 or above.
2. The instrument is required to have explosion-proof function and obtain dust explosion-proof certificate
Dust explosion refers to the explosion phenomenon that occurs when combustible dust suspended in the air touches an open flame or spark. The most common dust explosions are coal powder, flour, wood powder, sugar powder, corn powder, potato powder, dry milk powder, aluminum powder, zinc powder, magnesium powder, sulfur powder, etc.
A combustible dust explosion generally requires three conditions: the dust itself is explosive; the dust must be suspended in the air and mixed with the air to an explosive concentration; and there must be a fire source sufficient to cause a dust explosion.
Since hot melt adhesive powder is in the form of powder with a fineness of 40-80 mesh, there is a risk of explosion. Therefore, for safety reasons, the instrument used for level measurement must obtain a dust explosion-proof certificate.
