Dukosi Limited Selects Keysight's Scienlab Test Solution to Develop Its Battery Modules
Keysight Technologies announced today that it has been selected by battery management technology provider Dukosi Limited to support the development of battery management integrated circuits. Dukosi will use Keysight's Scienlab SL1001A battery test system to support the development of battery degradation tracking and prediction algorithms and charge state monitors. Keysight provides advanced design and verification solutions to promote design innovation and create a secure and connected world.
Dukosi Limited is a participant in the Battery Advancement for Future Transportation Applications (BAFTA) project, which aims to develop a framework that optimizes performance and system management for a new generation of safer and more efficient battery packs. To support its work, Dukosi selected Keysight's Scienlab battery test solution, which includes the SL1001A Battery Test System - Module Level and Energy Storage Discovery (ESD) software.
"Dukosi is conducting research on lithium-ion cell degradation, which means our experiments need to run safely for many months with minimal intervention," said Joel Sylvester, Dukosi CTO. "After considering many options, we chose to work with Keysight to provide a complete cycler and chamber solution to ensure the highest level of safety. As we can see from the progress so far, Keysight's support has been excellent, and the effective utilization of the system is far higher than we expected."
Dukosi's testing program was able to successfully deliver rigorous, stable and repeatable results thanks to Keysight's ESD software, which monitors the charging characteristics of different batteries under various temperature and climate conditions, as well as use cases in real-world stress environments.
Keysight's Scienlab test solutions enabled Dukosi to:
• Design battery modules with higher energy/power density.
• Monitor performance degradation in different temperature environments.
• Record multiple temperature values to study the interaction between the electrical and thermal performance of the battery cell.
"We are very pleased that Dukosi Limited has chosen to work with Keysight," said Thomas Goetzl, vice president and general manager of Keysight's Automotive and Energy Solutions group. "We look forward to bringing Keysight's expertise and battery testing solutions to our customers to help advance battery cell technology and contribute to more efficient transportation solutions for the future."
