Building a new highland for innovative teaching of power electronics, Tektronix REPERS solution delivered to Henan University of Technology
Beijing, China, July 16, 2021 – Tektronix, a world-renowned electronic measuring instrument manufacturer that has been committed to promoting the integration of industry and education, recently announced that it has delivered the REPERS power electronics development simulation experiment platform to Henan University of Technology. The two parties will work together to create a new high ground for innovative teaching of power electronics. The new teaching platform will be used in undergraduate professional teaching and innovative teaching in majors such as electrical engineering and automation, automation and mechatronics, involving four aspects: course experiments, course design, electrical competition training and graduation design. The power electronics laboratory based on the REPERS platform will become the most frequently used laboratory in the mechatronics laboratory of Henan University of Technology.
REPERS power electronics solution is a brand-new masterpiece developed by Tektronix and a third-party company, which mainly cultivates students' engineering and innovation capabilities. Starting from actual engineering and product development, REPERS, an innovative experimental platform for new energy conversion and control development, takes "engineering thinking training" and "product thinking training" as the core, implements "real development", develops "real products", and implements "real applications", combining power electronics technology with new energy application scenarios. According to the needs of new energy applications such as energy storage, photovoltaic power generation, electric vehicles, and smart microgrids, the recognition, simulation, development, testing, and system application of related power and control products are carried out.
REPERS teaching concept diagram
As a key undergraduate university in Henan Province, Henan University of Technology has always focused on cultivating students' innovation and engineering capabilities. Its teaching ideas coincide with the purpose of REPERS power electronics solutions. REPERS power electronics solutions are a new masterpiece developed by Tektronix and a third-party company, mainly to cultivate students' engineering and innovation capabilities. At present, the practical teaching links of most engineering majors are virtual, seriously out of touch with the industry, and difficult to combine with engineering practice.
The new energy power electronics development model implemented by REPERS can perfectly match the "establishment of innovative, comprehensive, full-cycle engineering education concepts" in the new engineering education. Through this platform, students can carry out the recognition, design, simulation, development, testing and system application of new energy power sources that meet the requirements of different application scenarios. With course design as the core and compatible with course experiments, it can be expanded to the stage of dual entrepreneurship education, scientific research improvement, production internship and graduation thesis, and fully implement the CDIO education model.
REPERS uses new energy and intelligent control as application scenarios, and power electronics development and simulation as the main means to cultivate students' ability to solve complex engineering problems based on actual product development, testing and application. It integrates traditional experimental courses with practical links such as curriculum design, innovation and entrepreneurship education, and graduation thesis to achieve the integrated development of "four innovations integration". REPERS provides new teaching ideas and implementation methods for practical teaching of electrical engineering, electronic science, automation, Internet of Things, new energy and other majors.
