How to judge the quality of capacitors for MKP induction cookers

1. To judge whether the capacitor is good or bad, it is recommended to use a pointer multimeter, or you can use the capacitance range of a digital meter. If you use a pointer multimeter, generally use the R&TImes;1K range, and connect the test leads to the two poles of the capacitor. At this time, the multimeter pointer will swing, and then slowly return to zero or near zero. Such a capacitor is good. The larger the capacity of the capacitor, the longer the charging time, and the slower the pointer swings to the 00 direction.

2. If after connecting, the pointer does not move and the resistance value displayed is very small and does not move, it can be confirmed that it is broken. If the 16UF/450VAC capacitor mentioned above is tested with the pointer meter R&TImes;1K gear, the pointer should swing larger and then fall back to 00. As for the resistance between the two legs of 11.7M, it cannot be said that it is broken. If it can be charged and discharged normally, this capacitor is still good. But its capacity can only be accurately known by testing with the capacitor gear. For the test of this capacitor, the most direct and simple method is to connect it directly with 220V AC, you can first connect one pole and touch the other capacitor leg with another power cord. If there is an obvious small spark when touching, it can be confirmed that this capacitor is charged, that is, this capacitor is not broken.

Use a capacitance meter to measure. If you don’t have a capacitance meter, you can use a multimeter. Set the gear according to the capacity, touch the two pins of the capacitor with the two test leads, and observe the amplitude of the swing and the speed of the return to the meter. Then swap the test leads and measure again. Before measuring, the capacitor should be discharged. Use a metal object to short-circuit the two pins of the capacitor. The amplitude of the needle swing is related to the capacity of the capacitor, which can be compared with a good capacitor of the same capacity for reference. If the speed at which the needle returns to the meter is very slow, it means that the capacitor has leakage. The slower the speed, the more serious the leakage. If the multimeter cannot be used, it can only simply determine whether the capacitor has capacity or leakage. It cannot determine the withstand voltage of the capacitor. It is best to do a voltage test on the capacitor (such as using a 400V megohmmeter).


If you don't have any professional tools, it's best to use the replacement method. You don't have to use a dedicated capacitor, as long as the capacity and withstand voltage are the same, don't reduce the original capacitor, solder a new one on it, turn on the power and see if the induction cooker is fixed. If it's still not fixed, it's not the capacitor's problem.
