Before measuring current, the power supply of the instrument to be tested should be cut off, and the multimeter should be connected before power is supplied for measurement. Do not connect the multimeter with power on. When measuring current, the two test leads must not be connected across the power supply to avoid burning the meter head. The internal resistance of the power supply and the load resistance are very small, so a larger current range should be selected as much as possible to reduce the shunt resistance value, thereby reducing the voltage drop on the shunt resistance and improving the measurement accuracy.

When measuring current, the multimeter is connected in series with the circuit, and the current flowing through the circuit also flows through the multimeter. When the current to be measured is unknown, first dial the highest range and measure it once, then gradually reduce the range to a suitable position depending on the situation.
