This article introduces the main uses and precautions of noise signal generators, hoping to be helpful to everyone.
The main purpose of noise signal generator
1. Introduce a random signal into the system to be tested to simulate the noise in actual working conditions and measure the performance of the system;
2. Add a known noise signal and compare it with the internal noise of the system to determine the noise figure;
3. Use random signals instead of sine or pulse signals to test the dynamic characteristics of the system. For example, by using white noise as the input signal and measuring the cross-correlation function of the network's output signal and input signal, the impulse response function of the network can be obtained.
Noise Signal Generator Notes
1. The noise signal generator is equipped with a "power indicator". If the indicator light is not on during use, the battery should be replaced before use.
2. When not in use, the noise signal generator should be placed in a dry and ventilated place to avoid moisture.
3. It is strictly forbidden to short-circuit the black clip and red clip of the noise signal generator output probe, otherwise the output will be short-circuited and the instrument will be burned.
4. The output voltage of the noise signal generator refers to the voltage when it is loaded, and the output voltage needs to be adjusted every time the frequency is changed. When adjusting the output frequency of the noise signal generator, you should first select the frequency range and then fine-tune the frequency.
5. Before using an AC millivoltmeter to measure voltage, short-circuit and adjust to zero.
The specific method is: turn on the power switch of the millivoltmeter, clamp the red and black clips of the test line together, turn the range knob to the 1mv range, and the pointer should point to zero. If it is not at zero, check whether the test line is broken or in poor contact, and replace the test line. When measuring voltage, the range should be correctly selected according to the actual situation of the circuit being tested, and its ground terminal should always be connected to the ground of the circuit to prevent interference. In addition, due to the high sensitivity of the AC millivoltmeter, the range knob should be turned to a higher range when not measuring, or the red and black clips of the test line should be clamped together to prevent the pointer from bending.
