The advantage of vortex flowmeter is that it can measure both liquid and gas. Usually, the medium flow passes through the vortex generator to generate a frequency signal, and then the circuit board converts the frequency signal into the flow value we see. The pipeline on site usually vibrates, and the vibration will generate a frequency signal to the vortex, making the vortex flowmeter mistakenly think that flow has been generated. When the vortex measures liquid, the frequency generated is low, so the influence of pipeline vibration on it is relatively large. Ultimately, it leads to poor measurement accuracy.
 
When measuring gas, the vortex flowmeter generates a high frequency signal. Even if the pipeline vibrates at this time, it will not have much impact on the flow. We can use the small signal removal function in the vortex circuit to remove it, or we can support the pipeline to prevent the generation of harmful frequency signals.
 
The vortex flowmeter measures steam because the straight pipe length is not enough, resulting in a smaller flow measurement value. This is an on-site installation problem. There is currently no good solution. Only by ensuring that the length of the straight pipe section meets the installation requirements of the vortex flowmeter can its measurement be correct.
 
Vortex flowmeters are increasingly used in steam because their overall cost is much lower than other flowmeters. In addition, they can integrate temperature sensors and pressure transmitters inside the vortex, which reduces the number of matching meters required for measuring steam. This saves product costs and facilitates troubleshooting.
