Toshiba Launches Hall Sensorless Sine Wave Drive 3-Phase Brushless DC Motor Control Pre-Driver IC to Help Reduce Vibration and Noise
Shanghai, China, February 8, 2022 – Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) today announced the launch of the TC78B011FTG, a 3-phase brushless DC motor control pre-driver IC for high-speed motors used in server fans and blowers, and vacuum motors used in cordless vacuum cleaners and robot vacuums. The product is available for mass shipment starting today.
TC78B011FTG adopts a sine wave drive method without Hall sensor control. This helps reduce vibration and noise. In addition, the built-in closed-loop speed control function allows users to program detailed speed curves into the IC's non-volatile memory (NVM), suppressing speed fluctuations caused by power supply voltage or load fluctuations without using an external MCU.
At the same time, Toshiba also mass-produces TC78B009FTG, which adopts square wave drive mode without Hall sensor control. Users can choose the appropriate product according to their own motor drive mode.
