June 29, 2021 - MEMSIC Semiconductor, a world-leading MEMS product company, released its independently developed new product - the MHA100/150/160 series of ultra-low power Hall switch sensors for IOT applications, and successfully supplied them to first-tier customers.
In recent years, in order to make the phone thinner and more waterproof, more and more smartphone manufacturers have cancelled the 3.5mm audio interface of the phone and paid more and more attention to the design of TWS (True Wireless Stereo) true wireless Bluetooth headsets. Currently, the TWS wireless headset installation rate of smartphones is close to 30%. At the same time, the unfettered use experience of TWS headsets is also deeply loved by consumers, and the market demand continues to grow rapidly. With the wide application of its geomagnetic sensor products among mobile phone manufacturers, MEMSIC Semiconductor has accumulated a large number of customer resources, laying a good foundation for the newly launched Hall sensor to open up the TWS headset market.
Hall switches are critical for detecting the opening and closing of the TWS headset charging compartment cover and whether the headset is in place. Compared with traditional detection methods, Hall switches have the advantages of clean and stable digital output, long life, vibration resistance, low power consumption, and resistance to oil, water vapor, salt spray and dust pollution. They are favored by more and more mobile phone solution providers and have unlimited application prospects.
The ultra-low power Hall switch MHA100/150/160 series launched by MEMSIC Semiconductor adopts low-power CMOS technology and has power consumption as low as 2.5μA. At the same time, the chip has built-in sensitivity compensation and excellent temperature compensation characteristics, enabling the chip to operate in an environment of -45~85℃ and maintain good performance and consistency.
Advantages of MEMSIN Hall switch sensors:
-
Low noise, good consistency of Bop/Brp magnetic parameters, can ensure good consistency of the final product, accurate switch detection
-
The hysteresis window can reach 5 Gauss, which can more accurately detect the changes in the magnetic field in the application, and the magnetic field detection sensitivity is better, which is at the leading level in the industry.

A variety of packages are available, including DFN1014/SOT23-3L/SOT553, to meet the application requirements of different products
MHA100 Series
Adopt DFN1014 package, size 1.0x1.4x0.37mm, omnipolar dual output, can support N and S pole detection
Features: Small package, suitable for product applications requiring small size, such as opening and closing detection of mobile phone cases
MHA150 Series
Adopt SOT23-3L package, size 2.9x1.6x1.2mm, unipolar single pin output
Features: The package size is suitable for the application of mid-range TWS headset charging case, and can detect the opening and closing of the case cover to determine whether it is charging, etc.
MHA160 Series
Adopt SOT553 package, size 1.6x1.2x0.55mm, unipolar single pin output
Features: Smaller than SOT23-3L package, widely used in high-end TWS headset charging cases
MEMSIC Semiconductor is about to launch the next generation MHA180 series, which can support bipolar detection single output. There is no need to specify the polarity of the magnet during assembly. As long as there is a change in the magnetic field, it can be detected. It also supports push-pull, open-drain, and pull-up output modes, which can meet the application needs of more fields.
MEMSIC's series of sensors have been widely used in automobiles, mobile phones, IoT, drones, home appliances and industrial fields. With years of independent research and development accumulation, MEMSIC will continue to enrich its product line, expand its application areas, and expand globally in the future to provide high-quality products and services to more and more users!
