(Hsinchu, Taiwan, September 27, 2022) PUFsecurity Corporation, a subsidiary of e-Power Electronics, announced that its secure cryptographic coprocessor IP PUFcc has obtained PSA Certified™ Level 2 Ready certification after being tested by SGS Brightsight, an independent security testing laboratory in partnership with the Arm Platform Security Architecture Certification Program (PSA Certified).

The PSA certification framework is designed to ensure that manufacturers incorporate security into IoT devices early in the design process, and provides practical implementation guidance, tools and verification services accordingly. Using PSA certified IP can help customers save R&D resources and accelerate the necessary security certification for product launch.

Entropy Technology's cryptographic coprocessor PUFcc is the first security IP to pass all PSA test items for IP. It consists of a hardware root of trust made from the patented OTP and PUF technology of its parent company, e-Power Electronics, a complete cryptographic engine certified by NIST-CAVP, and a tamper-proof design that has passed the Riscure security test. During the test, the PUFcc IP was fully integrated with the Arm Cortex-M33 and Corstone-201, and successfully passed the PSA security framework test, verifying the reliability of PUFcc in secure boot, secure storage, firmware update, secure boundary and cryptographic engine design.

"When thousands of companies are developing IoT products, it is particularly important to establish a security standard framework that is recognized by the market. PSA certification helps build customer trust, just like people only buy cars that have passed safety inspections," said Zhong Chenglin, marketing director of Entropy Technology. "That's why we put a lot of effort into completing PSA certification. For other end product development customers who are looking for security IP and are interested in obtaining PSA certification, adopting the PSA-certified PUFcc will be a smart choice."

Alex Rubert, Business Manager at SGS Brightsight, also responded: “We are delighted that Entropy Technologies has chosen SGS Brightsight to achieve this important milestone on its cryptographic coprocessor PUFcc. We will continue to work closely with Entropy Technologies to ensure secure deployment for our customers and partners at all stages of development, starting with design. Together, we will enhance the security of the IoT ecosystem.”
