The evaluation kit enables comprehensive performance evaluation of the Gen4.1 high-definition event vision sensor developed jointly with Sony Semiconductor Solutions, featuring the industry's smallest pixel and superior HDR performance.
Shanghai, China, May 13, 2021 - Prophesee today announced the launch of a comprehensive Evaluation Kit (EVK) to help machine vision system developers fully evaluate the performance of event-based vision sensors.
ProVision HD Vision Evaluation Kit
The evaluation kit is suitable for full performance evaluation and supports full sensor bandwidth up to 3Gbps via the USB 3 interface. In addition, the kit supports comprehensive sensor control including digital channels (Event Signal Processor ESP) and has a C/CS lens with S-mount adapter.
By using this evaluation kit, developers can get early access to the most advanced event-based vision sensor jointly developed by Profibus and Sony, which was announced at ISSCC in February 2020 and features an industry-leading 4.86μm pixel pitch and 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.
"This is an important milestone in our joint development with Sony," said Luca Verre, founder and CEO of ProVision. "The new evaluation kit will help system developers in the fields of industrial automation, IoT and manufacturing to fully and accurately understand the performance benefits of this innovative sensor architecture and prepare to deploy machine vision solutions."
The evaluation kit is fully compatible with Metavision® Intelligence Kit 2.2, the latest release from ProVision, and can be used to perform multiple design exploration steps and combined with customized software applications to meet specific market needs.
The evaluation kit is available through the Profaces website.
