Microwave Vision Group (MVG), a leading manufacturer of innovative antenna test technology, has announced that its Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) and Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) systems have been officially accredited for calibration according to ISO 17025. The certification was carried out by COFRAC, the French national accreditation body, at its laboratory in Brest, France.
The increasing popularity of consumer mobile communication devices has also raised concerns about the health risks caused by exposure to electromagnetic fields. In order to ensure radio frequency (RF) safety, many international regulatory agencies and committees have established standards that mobile communication devices must follow. At the same time, in order to ensure the continued accuracy of test instruments and systems, regular calibration is necessary. As a global leader in antenna testing, MVG provides a complete set of SAR / HAC systems for testing and certification of mobile telecommunications equipment.
The measurement process of SAR value is complicated because the penetration of energy into human tissue is affected by many factors, such as the type of phone, the shape of the user's head or the frequency. Therefore, SAR testing needs to be carried out in a laboratory using precise testing instruments that meet the definition of the standard.
Receiving certification to this internationally recognized standard further demonstrates MVG’s expertise in antenna measurement solutions. MVG can now calibrate probes and dipoles using the certified SAR and HAC measurement systems, thus offering customers a complete service in their test lab.
It is worth mentioning that MVG's COMOSAR system is available in four configurations: 1, 2, 3 or 4 mannequin basins. The COMOSAR standard measurement table is a complete turnkey system that includes a full set of equipment and accessories to meet all customer requirements, ensuring that the device under test meets the certification standards while achieving flexibility in setup and use.
