In order to make advanced graphics control chips more attractive in the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) field, Bridgetek has established a three-way partnership with IoT development expert Zerynth and advanced display solution provider Riverdi. By combining the respective expertise of these companies' engineering teams, customers will be able to more easily integrate the next generation of smart building systems and automation equipment with Industry 4.0 factories.
Benefiting from Bridgetek's BT81x series of chips, which combine the company's award-winning Embedded Video Engine (EVE) technology, as well as Riverdi's touch display modules and Zerynth IoT programming platform and supporting libraries, the partnership provides users with a compelling hardware/software combination that can significantly accelerate system deployment. Using EVE's pioneering object-oriented architecture to build complex human-machine interfaces (HMIs) requires only the simplest microcontroller and minimal memory capacity, thereby reducing board space and power requirements. Similarly, Zerynth's Python-based programming platform can reduce software engineering efforts and be optimized for resource-constrained IoT applications. This will enable Riverdi to provide a wide range of Wi-Fi/Bluetooth-compatible EVE HMI devices connected to the cloud network within an IoT monitoring or control system to take advantage of a variety of cloud services.
Lee Chee Ee, Head of Product Development at Bridgetek, explained, “The Internet of Things will provide huge opportunities for further automation in our lives, workspaces and factories. Bringing together our unique Embedded Video Engine (EVE) technology with the expertise of Zerynth and Riverdi means we have a multi-faceted solution to address these applications – from chips to modules to firmware.”
