In 2016, for the first time in history, we used cognitive intelligence to make machines surpass human teachers in essay and oral scores; in 2017, we were the first in the world to let machines pass the National Medical Practitioner Qualification Examination, with a high score of 456, surpassing 96.3% of human candidates, thus making artificial intelligence have the potential of general practitioners for the first time. In March this year, the medical robot was put into use in Hefei. At the beginning, it could only treat more than 150 diseases, but now it can treat more than 300 diseases. We expect to be able to treat thousands of diseases by the end of this year, and truly become a general practitioner who keeps learning and improving. Now our translation level has reached or even exceeded the level of College English Test Band 6.
We can now see that there are two very important trends in the era of artificial intelligence: the Internet of Everything and data-driven.
The Internet of Everything is a major trend that can be clearly seen in the global consumer electronics exhibition and the World Internet Development Report in the past two years. As the sixth wave of the IT industry, more and more wearable devices, smart homes, portable terminals and car-mounted devices are becoming popular. In this process, with the upcoming large-scale construction of 5G in China, it will vigorously promote the development of the Internet of Everything era, which will show more than ten times the number of terminals in the mobile Internet era represented by mobile phones. In this field, people will also put forward higher requirements for more natural human-computer interaction.
With the booming development of the artificial intelligence era, the application development based on data-driven technological progress has become a very important way for society. Data-driven requires us to further raise higher and higher requirements for user privacy protection while gathering data, and the world is paying close attention to it. We At this year's two sessions, iFLYTEK, on my behalf as a representative of the National People's Congress, specifically proposed a motion to establish a national user privacy protection law. The background technology requirements brought about by the Internet of Everything and data-driven are also getting higher and higher.
In the context of the Internet of Everything, we need to adapt to more and more users of different ages, such as our parents, grandparents, and children, who are all starting to use it. Therefore, we have put forward higher and higher requirements for noise, accents, dialects, and long-distance recognition. For many developers present here today, if voice recognition is to be truly useful and meet rigid needs in the Internet of Everything, rather than a gimmick, its technical threshold will be further raised, rather than lowered.
The results of the English speech recognition competition just announced on September 7 this year were for the international English recognition competition in the scenario of long distance, noise, and multiple people speaking. The organizing committee gave a baseline system based on the latest international algorithm. Because the noise was particularly loud, the error rate of the baseline system was 80%. Almost all well-known international institutions participated, and many units did not meet the requirements of the baseline system. iFlytek ranked first in the world in all four indicators, and the accuracy rate exceeded the baseline system by 40 points. I think this has further won the respect of the world for China in the field of speech. We use the latest speech recognition system in our iFlytek Hearing and future reference solutions and open platforms that we cooperate with developers.
Today, we are facing the Internet of Everything. We need to be able to listen, speak, understand and think about more technical solutions. So what about user privacy protection? Of course, enterprises must be self-disciplined, have internal rules, abide by national laws, respect users, and respect market laws. The state must legislate. At the same time, I think it is also very important for technological progress to give users the right to choose. So we took the lead in the industry to launch offline voice recognition. In iFlytek's input method, if you don't want the voice data to be sent to the background, you can directly choose offline recognition, all on your own machine. Of course, our backend online data is directly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, called "Safe and Reliable Voice Cloud", which is specially identified and certified for us to protect user privacy. But if everyone feels uneasy about the local voice synthesis, we want to read out all kinds of voices, and even we can imitate your girlfriend's voice to read the EMAIL she gave you. You don't want others to know, just listen to it yourself, offline voice synthesis and offline translation. All translations in today's system are offline, and we implement them on a small local device.
In December 2015, after iFlytek launched the Tingjian system, many manufacturers followed suit. However, so far, we have seen that none of the products of other competitors are offline in various major conferences. They all need to use large-scale service clusters in the background for calculation. Only iFlytek has truly launched an offline translation system today. Therefore, our system can be used in such a public occasion, and it can also be used in confidential occasions such as internal meetings when we communicate with foreigners. We can also use it in confidential occasions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is the choice that our iFlytek technology brings to our consumers and users.
Technology alone is certainly not everything. We say that there have always been great products, and great technology must be implemented through great products. The real development of artificial intelligence requires source technology manufacturers, open platforms, and the collaborative efforts of all entrepreneurs. It also requires the support of social ethics, humanities, and legal systems. It is by no means the work of a single enterprise, a single research institute, or a few scientists. It involves the entire human race. It will be a great historical process that involves all aspects of social life.
iFLYTEK is not the only company that believes that as technology is used in various fields where there is data and logic to follow, it will replace a large number of existing jobs and improve existing work efficiency. International mainstream science and technology media and comprehensive media have also made such comments. For example, Science magazine predicts that 50% of the world's existing jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence by 2045. We have introduced this to everyone on many occasions. The BBC has given a special table predicting the replacement rate of artificial intelligence in 365 current industries. Many people say that this is exaggerated. Today I tell you that as long as there is data and rules to follow, machines will replace 50% to 77% of people. It will become a reality within the next ten years, without having to wait until 2045. So each of us should pay attention to artificial intelligence today, and each of us entrepreneurs should understand the general trend of artificial intelligence. I think this is an inevitable trend.
Of course, we reject myths. You know, because artificial intelligence is just getting started, we have encountered various situations in the process of development. As one of the first four national artificial intelligence platforms, iFlytek's development has also been subject to various discussions. Even many industries have communicated with iFlytek to discuss the relationship between machines and people. Everyone has concerns and worries. But I think the current trend of artificial intelligence is actually not something that can be stopped by one person or one industry. Just like the restrictions on cars by the Red Flag Act in the UK, in the end, cars were not restricted, and the UK fell behind and delayed the automotive industry by 30 years. The tide of artificial intelligence is by no means something that can be stopped by a certain industry or individual. Even if China does not do it, the whole world will do it. Therefore, we can only adapt to this era and make good use of artificial intelligence. This is the wise move at present.
At the end of 2015, we launched iFlytek Tingjian. In 2016 and 2017, many data companies were actually hostile to iFlytek. But now we find that iFlytek's Tingjian platform has brought more and more traffic and business to everyone. Now more and more transcription data companies have become part of the iFlytek ecosystem, and everyone's business volume is larger than before, because there were many individuals and institutions who had no money and conditions to accept transcription services. Now there is such a demand, which has activated a larger market and enabled the original transcription companies to have more business. I think this is a general trend, and everyone should work together to face such a great historical process.
In this process, human-machine coupling is the key to the application of artificial intelligence systems. Even if there are data and rules to follow in various industries, we still need the best artificial intelligence algorithms, industry data and application experts to polish them together. Why did we pass the medical examination robot? Because we have many medical experts. We have signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Peking Union Medical College and Anhui Provincial Hospital. Now Anhui Provincial Hospital is the first affiliated hospital of University of Science and Technology of China.
From the perspective of technological development, the easiest thing for the earliest artificial intelligence is to play in situations where information is fully sufficient and rules are completely transparent, such as Go. A little more difficult is when information is semi-sufficient, such as playing mahjong. Of course, there are many areas where rules are changing, such as exam essays. The same Chinese essay should be scored differently for primary school students, high school students, and college students. There are different systems. Information is completely free, such as creativity. There are many places where decisions are made based on intuition and inspiration. Therefore, the evolutionary path of artificial intelligence technology must face such a development path in which information situations are constantly changing, rules are constantly blurring, and machines evolve autonomously from supervised training to unsupervised training.
In this process, the deep coupling of humans and machines is the real key to promoting the implementation of artificial intelligence applications. This is not only the core technology research route determined by iFLYTEK three years ago, but how to study the coupling of humans and machines in the era of artificial intelligence is also a direction we have discussed with many partners. At the same time, I also believe that it is a need for social ethics and humanistic development in the era of artificial intelligence. We cannot let machines completely replace humans. We must let everyone stand on the platform of artificial intelligence and enjoy artificial intelligence. This is also our inner spiritual driving force for human-machine coupling.
At the 18th anniversary ceremony of iFlytek last year, we all had a message for the future. We wrote to iFlytek in 2029, when iFlytek is 30 years old. What do we think the world will be like? What will iFlytek be like? What will happen to us personally? Of course, we have sealed this up and will not open it until 2029. In one of the messages, I wrote about human-machine coupling. I hope that by 2029, 80% of my work as chairman will be done by machines, and 20% will be done by me. This is a typical human-machine coupling system in corporate governance and chairman decision-making, and it is a very important sign that iFlytek will build an information system in the future. Yesterday, we also discussed with the world's top human resources company how to use human-machine coupling to promote our human resources management and internal management decisions.
As for human-machine coupling, let me tell you about the example of translation, because everyone has paid a lot of attention to it recently. In fact, on October 21 last year, iFLYTEK established a joint laboratory with the School of Advanced Translation and Interpretation of Shanghai International Studies University to explore the application mode of machine translation with human-machine coupling. The most critical word written in the agreement is human-machine coupling. After about a year of development, we have done 45 experiments, 45 experimental reports, and 92 suggestions for product improvement. We can see a set of data. We picked out two of them for you to see. One is the completeness of interpretation information. The students of the School of Advanced Translation and Interpretation of Shanghai International Studies University are all trained to be the top simultaneous interpreters in China. The final verification result of these students is that the completeness of interpretation information has increased from 80% to 97%.
We can see that when I was speaking, our machine translated in real time. I was very fast. If a simultaneous interpreter did it manually, he might be able to grasp my main content but would definitely miss a lot because he didn't have enough time and had to remember and speak at the same time. The key core is that the data and information machine automatically transcribes it, so that when our simultaneous interpreters read it, they can prevent information loss. This is a special iFlytek simultaneous interpretation assistant device.
When the World Artificial Intelligence Conference was held in Shanghai, we put the equipment in the simultaneous interpretation box, and worked with Shanghai International Studies University. We can see that the completeness of the interpretation information has increased from 88% to 97%, and the work pressure has been reduced by 80%. This is all supported by experimental data throughout the process. So you can see that recently, the dean of the School of Advanced Translation and Interpretation of Shanghai International Studies University, Zhang Ailing, who is also a translator I respect very much, wrote an article specifically saying that he believes that human-machine coupling is an unstoppable trend.
Let's take a look at it again. One of the most famous top experts in the Chinese translation industry, the former director of the United Nations Geneva Interpretation Division, participated in the simultaneous interpretation challenge held at Shanghai International Studies University in August this year. Our machine also participated. He was very surprised at the progress of our technology. Then these are his original words, saying that a truly good translator is one who can use machine translation, rather than being replaced by a machine. If we cannot stop the trend, we should guide the trend and follow the trend. I think this is the mentality that all sectors of our society should have today: whoever is the first to adapt to the trend of this era can stand at the forefront of the times and become the winner of life in the future.
Human-machine coupling is also becoming a global consensus. For example, iFlytek and MIT Computer and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory have signed a strategic cooperation agreement, in which a very important part is to study the combination of brain science and mathematical modeling methods and the future model of human-machine coupling. Fei-Fei Li of Stanford University returned to Stanford from Google and recently established a human-centered artificial intelligence research institute to promote the integration of man and machine. I think human-machine coupling is becoming a global consensus, so this is the conclusion of iFlytek for many years. We proposed the concept two years ago. It is not only a trend of technological development, but also a requirement for the development of social ethics. It is not AI that is more powerful than humans, but humans who have mastered AI. We will continue to promote our research products and our social responsibility of iFlytek unswervingly and unwaveringly along this path.
Hu Yu, Executive President of iFLYTEK: 1024 Plan + AI Enable Ecological Products
Chairman Liu Qingfeng just introduced some recent breakthroughs in core AI technologies of iFLYTEK. In addition, we have made a lot of new achievements. We just won the championship in both tasks of CityScapes test. CityScapes mainly tests whether people can automatically classify and judge the scenes and objects they see based on all the information they receive while driving.
Regarding the classification of artificial intelligence, we say there is computational intelligence, perceptual intelligence, motor intelligence and cognitive intelligence. Cognitive intelligence means that humans have the ability to understand language, express knowledge, perform complex logical reasoning and make final decisions. There are also very high-level evaluations in this area internationally. We also achieved very good results in this year's International Semantic Recognition Competition. Among the 24 participating teams, we defeated the other participating teams and finally achieved an accuracy rate of 84.13%. In terms of image recognition, this year we have expanded the medical field to the segmentation task of microaneurysms of diabetic retinopathy. We won the first place in the hemangioma competition. All of the above shows that iFLYTEK's core technology is at the leading level internationally.
The technologies we provide to developers are not limited to these. Our Nebula Project connects developers on the one hand, and the best core technology research teams at home and abroad on the other hand, and integrates their results on our developer platform. According to iFlytek's more than 40 joint laboratories in various countries around the world, as well as research institutions with which we have strategic cooperation, more and more world-leading core technologies are continuously connected through our Nebula Project.
We now have a total of 153 core technologies. However, having good core technologies alone does not mean that we can use them smoothly in our products. We have carried out in-depth development in three aspects to enhance the overall capabilities of the platform.
Global node distribution. We have set up cloud computing nodes in Beijing, Shanghai, Hefei, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Los Angeles, and Ireland;
Large-scale supercomputing center. At the same time, a 15,000 square meter big data center was established in Hefei (iFlytek headquarters). The current computing speed has exceeded 200 trillion times per second, and the number of the largest single server exceeds 20 TOPS, and the memory bandwidth is about 16TB/s;
Cloud-native computing architecture: Rapidly build an AI cloud platform based on the cloud-native computing technology stack, efficiently supporting the rapid construction and stable operation of 153 AI capabilities.
Since the first release of the iFlytek Voice Cloud Platform in 2010, iFlytek has been committed to more forms of combination. For example, we have considered embedded software, chips, cloud computing, hardware and software integration, overall solutions and finished hardware platforms (AIUI). Last year and this year, major international providers also announced that they have just been able to provide full-duplex intelligent voice interaction platforms, and AIUI has been opened to the entire industry in 2015. We have also proposed iFLY inside, and hope that all iFLY inside products will be able to be used very well in various situations in the future. We also released the Magic Fly Microphone in the year before last and last year, a highly integrated product with hardware and software, which makes the basic level of intelligent voice capabilities in many scenarios very simple and easy.
Under the guidance of these different solutions, we have also formulated improvement plans for developers. The first is the three major plans: the education plan, the ecological plan and the public welfare plan.
The teaching plan is to ensure that all developers can better learn the various environments we provide. The ecological plan is to ensure that all developers can grow together with iFlytek in the entire ecosystem. AI Teaching and Guidance Plan.
In order to enable more people to realize their dreams, we have launched a series of teaching and guidance plans in the past year. For example, AI University now has more than 240,000 students, more than 100 online courses, and 55 contracted professors. In AI University, we provide a wealth of content, such as online courses, future course stacks, boutique classrooms, technical professional courses, AI open courses, and AI entrepreneurship courses. These rich materials provide all-round guidance for our developers.
We are also building a more comprehensive system in two other aspects . On the one hand, we are jointly training students with universities. We have established 27 AI startup societies through contacts with 20 schools including Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, and Anhui University. On the other hand, we are also jointly training developers with a series of brands that incubate innovators, including online open courses, continuous simulations, online answering, completion certificates, etc. These brands include Dajie, Clockwork, TusStar, and AiKeCheng.
AI Ecological Plan. With the training of this educational program, more and more people will be able to access the iFlytek AI Ecological Plan. We want to develop more AI dreams better and faster, including the AI crowd-innovation space we are currently working on. We provide venues, support preferential policies, public platforms and venture capital funds. There are now more than 600 companies settled in the offline entrepreneurial platform, the industrial scale of intelligent technology exceeds 80 billion, and the number of jobs has exceeded 30,000. So iFlytek is not entirely a company that provides services and capabilities to everyone online. We have the same content online and offline.
There is also an AI Ecosystem Salon. Many AI developers hope that the products they develop can be used by more people, including many large companies, such as state-owned enterprises. Through the AI Ecosystem Salon, we connect good investment institutions and good developers. The number of investment institutions we connect exceeds 360, the number of on-site audiences exceeds 6,000, and the number of entrepreneurial projects connected has reached more than 400. AI Ecosystem Salons are booming in ten cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Tianjin, and Changchun.
We have selected outstanding representatives from these AI developers, and there will be an awards ceremony this afternoon, which will be held together with our AI awards ceremony. We have selected a total of 54 diamond teams, 13 of which have received financing in the past year, with a total valuation of more than 6 billion yuan. More and more star companies will grow in the soil of AI entrepreneurship.
In addition to the excellent AI team of our new unicorn, iFlytek opened an AI service market just last year, which connects our developers with to B demanders. In this regard, we connect all corporate customers who have demand for AI, provide brand and business support, and provide more than 180 solutions. Many of our developers are directly developing to C products, and many developers are also researching to B products. We hope that the platform can provide brand sales channels and supply chain support for to C products. At the same time, we also hope that our ecological platform can provide to B developers with large corporate customers, investors and other aspects. Only in this way can our two business models of to C and to B and the entire ecology be perfect enough, and can also help more entrepreneurs and developers.
AI Public Welfare Plan. The AI Public Welfare Plan is mainly to allow more people to benefit from AI and to bring more love to the world. Our achievements in the past year are first of all our dialect protection plan. 5 million people have participated in the dialect protection plan activities, 100,000 people have uploaded dialect voices, and the number of dialect voices we have obtained has exceeded 200,000. In terms of voice recognition, we have added Suzhou dialect recognition. Among the 23 dialect voice recognitions we currently provide, more than 8 have a recognition accuracy rate of more than 90%, and the rest are more than 80%. As you can see, the use of dialect recognition in iFlytek input method is increasing, and you can very conveniently use your native language and hometown dialect to input greetings and information.
The Three Lucky Sounds Project is the one I am most proud of. From the perspective of economic benefits, the products we make should cover the largest group of people, which must be young and healthy people. Our advanced technology can actually help many people in society who need the most attention. The Three Lucky Sounds Project is based on this starting point.
One of our partners is Yinshu Technology, which serves nearly 400,000 hearing-impaired people and 10 schools for the deaf and dumb, and has become a bridge for the deaf to communicate with the outside world. I am very excited to hear this news, because our technology can really make our society a better place. In addition, we also have a cooperation with Mind Interactive, which has served 60,000 visually impaired people in total, mainly through speech synthesis, allowing the visually impaired to use the Internet.
This year we also did AI education charity. In the past year, we used advanced technology in the field of education to go to Tibet, Sichuan, Henan, Xinjiang and other places, directly donated more than 7 million yuan of equipment, and brought joy to many children in rural schools. Everyone knows that China's educational resources are uneven, and we need to do a lot of work in many poor and backward areas. The success of a company can be evaluated from sales revenue and output value, but I think the social responsibility that a company can bring will become a very important criterion for evaluating companies in the future. I also hope that all the developers here can join us in fulfilling our social responsibilities.
To know what we will do in the future, I think it is very important to be able to predict what changes will happen in the future.
First, the interaction mode has evolved from graphic interaction and touch interaction to visual presentation and voice interaction. In the development of computer systems, in every generation of computers, there is something that has been changing the way we interact with machines, from the earliest graphic interaction in the 1970s and 1980s, to the first generation of iPhone in 2006, which opened the era of touch interaction, to now voice interaction has become the main interaction mode. The change in voice interaction mode will inevitably bring about a series of changes in chips, cloud computing, appearance design and software design. This is the trend.
Second, the pure software and hardware model has changed to a cloud + terminal model that integrates software and hardware. In the past, you only needed to make a piece of software or hardware to meet user needs, but now with the development of mobile Internet, software and hardware integration and cloud integration have become an inevitable trend that no developer can avoid.
Third, end-user products are developing from big C to small C. Everyone knows that some products were initially produced by many manufacturers, such as PCs. At first, there were tens of thousands of manufacturers producing computers in the world, but now there are only a few major computer manufacturers in the world; the same is true for mobile phones. Now there are only seven major mobile phone manufacturers in the world. In human history, such products are called big C, which are large consumer products, including cars, home appliances, computers, and mobile phones. What everyone wants is a standardized appearance.
But some products do not develop in this way. There are many products, such as toys, clothes, and shoes. At the beginning, there were thousands or tens of thousands of manufacturers producing them. Now there are still thousands or tens of thousands of manufacturers producing them. Why is there such a difference? Because they are called small C products. For these products, what humans want is not instrumentalization and standardization, but diversification and differentiation.
Because artificial intelligence brings us not only the convenience of interaction, but also emotional support. This is why we give each artificial intelligence product a name. This name represents many things. This name is more emotional, differentiated and diversified than all small C products in human history. What does this also mean? It means that a door has been opened for us to many to C entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs can stick to it because we don’t have to be like the production of mobile phones and PCs, where only a few giants are left to compete. This provides us with a very broad space, and in such a space, we also need a new platform.
Fourth, the species participating in the ecosystem are developing towards diversification and de-oligopoly. In the Internet era, Internet companies often form giant monopolies, such as BAT in China. In the mobile Internet era, you will find that Internet companies can no longer have an exclusive monopoly. Why? Because many super apps have come in. In this process, mobile phone manufacturers are becoming more and more important, their position is becoming more and more critical, and mobile operators are also playing an increasingly important role in this process. In the future, in the era of the Internet of Things and the era of artificial intelligence, everything will be connected, and all types of companies can participate. For example, home appliance manufacturers, home furnishing manufacturers, and even clothing manufacturers will all join in (because there are more and more smart wearable devices). Television operators and real estate developers like China Radio and Television will also be added to the entire ecological chain more and more, and one of the links in these chains will become more and more oligopolistic.
Finally, the business ecosystem is developing from centralization to decentralization. One trend is the change of the entire business ecosystem. In the Internet era, what kind of role does our business ecosystem follow? We follow the principle of one dominant company, winner takes all, and extremely low marginal expansion costs. If it has always been like this, all of our entrepreneurs will not have to do anything, and we only need to serve a few giants. But it is precisely because of the various trends I have mentioned above that we will see that a decentralized business system, or in the words of iFlytek, a hybrid orthogonal business ecosystem is becoming more and more important and more mature. What is a hybrid orthogonal business ecosystem? We all know that the control nodes in the middle of the centralized business ecosystem always hope that the data is mine, the users are mine, and yours is also mine. But in a decentralized hybrid orthogonal business ecosystem, developers, traditional enterprises, Internet enterprises, and artificial intelligence enterprises, like weaving a basket, weave a big basket in a hybrid orthogonal way, and the basket contains the entire ecosystem, and all the participants who make up the basket share the ecosystem together.

We all know that there are actually two major problems in indoor sound pickup: noise interference and reverberation.
Because the sound field and echo are different in each room, we have our own unique design on M1:
First, a 24-bit high-precision pickup chip is used;
