ST4SIM-300--The industry's first IoT standard eSIM debuts in China
The ST4SIM-300 solution exhibited by STMicroelectronics at MWC Shanghai from June 26 to 28, 2024 complies with the upcoming GSMA eSIM IoT deployment standard. Also known as SGP.32, this standard introduces special features to facilitate the management of IoT devices connected to cellular networks.
Sneak Peek:
The ST4SIM-300 IoT eSIM solution leverages the upcoming GSMA new specification to enhance design flexibility, simplify switching operations for network operators, and simplify the management process of a large number of connected devices. In a world with increasing connections and increasingly stringent security protections, the new product will be able to seamlessly track assets around the world, connect smart devices to the cloud, and securely process data generated by billions of devices to support medical services and smart infrastructure, cities, factories and homes.
Unlike existing M2M and Consumer eSIM specifications, the IoT eSIM standard (SGP.32) is designed to meet the needs of today's IoT deployments. STMicroelectronics' ST4SIM-300 can maximize the automation of Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP), easily manage device SIM profiles in batches, and remotely switch network operators, thus avoiding the need to physically replace the card. The ST4SIM-300 eSIM complies with the latest 5G standards, facilitating the deployment of devices with limited user interface capabilities and low-power wide area network (LPWAN) devices.
❖
The ST4SIM-300 eSIM is available for sampling in multiple form factors, including wafer-level package (WLCSP) for smart meters, GPS trackers, asset monitors, remote sensors, medical wearables and similar devices.
❖ ST4SIM-300 is equipped with STMicroelectronics’ EAL6+ certified secure microcontroller, which puts security first from the beginning of product design. The new eSIM is compatible with the GSMA IoT SAFE applet, which facilitates the addition of security units to achieve end-to-end communication security protection and supports IoT device developers to carry out scalable security design.
