Engineers say: R-Car Market Place helps customers accelerate product launch

Have you read the blog I wrote at the end of last year, "Customer Value of the Automotive Business (Series 17): Introduction to the R-Car Alliance Partner Program?" Since publishing this blog, Renesas has received a lot of feedback and requests to create accounts on the R-Car Market Place.

R-Car Market Place is a new web service that makes it easy for customers to obtain a variety of information content, improve the efficiency of migration system development and shorten the development cycle. Until now, it took a certain amount of time to obtain R-Car technical information, which would become an obstacle for customers to evaluate and develop. To solve this problem, Renesas launched the "R-Car Market Place", which can obtain information with just a click, saving a lot of time. In addition to providing documents and software, Renesas will also list reference evaluation software from partners to facilitate the acceleration of customer migration development. Now, let's look at what kind of information content you can actually get. One is the information content provided by Renesas, and the other is the collaborative content between Renesas and partners.

The information content provided by Renesas is mainly software packages and hardware manuals. As mentioned in Chapter 1, the previous process required a long lead time, especially in obtaining software. By using the R-Car Market Place, you can easily obtain the latest software packages.

Renesas asks partners to create download/request pages for information content provided by their respective companies, and to establish a web service for obtaining various solutions starting from the R-Car Market Place. In addition, Renesas also publishes videos of various collaborative solutions here.

Renesas will continue to update this information content in order to always provide the latest version, please refer to the figure below for details.

This time, R-Car Market Place and Winning Combinations, a high value-added chipset solution, have started a collaborative combination. Winning Combinations provides the best solution by combining the company's superior SoC and analog products, thereby reducing BOM costs and shortening development cycles. As mentioned in Chapter 2, in addition to providing necessary content such as hardware manuals, R-Car Market Place also allows customers to easily obtain Winning Combo solutions, further accelerating the "Easy to Start" of in-vehicle development.

In this chapter, I will explain three network services that improve users' in-vehicle development efficiency by coordinating with the R-Car Market Place, thereby helping to shorten the development cycle.

This is a system that provides technical information of Proactive Partners and allows for quick search. For example, by searching for "China's partners supporting Android," you can easily compare the differences between partners. This way, you can choose the best solution for the areas that customers are concerned about.

The Education Program is a web service that provides easy access to webinar content at any time. The Education Program prepares courses designed to help you quickly and deeply understand the R-Car system.

Renesas has also strengthened its web services for technical support, pursuing new usability using open communities. The engineering community consists of three sites: "eLinux," a content provision site for open platforms, "Renesas Rulz," a forum for Renesas and R-Car users to exchange ideas, and "Knowledge Base," which publishes FAQs useful for development.
