The selection and application for the Damo Academy Young Orange Award has begun!

The award is open to young scientists aged 35 and under, and the winner will receive a discretionary prize of one million yuan.

Compared with the past, the number of winners this time has been expanded for the first time , from no more than 10 to no more than 30.

The number of patrons has been expanded for the first time

The Qingcheng Award was initiated by Alibaba Damo Academy in 2018. It has been held for four sessions and has funded nearly 40 young scholars in total.

Well-known winners in the past include rising stars in mathematics from the north and south, Chen Gao from USTC and Wei Dongyi from Peking University .

There are also Tsinghua assistant professor Huang Gao, who invented a new neural network architecture and whose papers have been cited tens of thousands of times, and aerospace engineer Zhu Feihu, who designed the "eyes" for the Tianwen-1 Mars rover...

What is different from previous years is that the scope and number of participants in this selection have been expanded and increased.

In terms of fields, in the past few years, the award selection has mainly been aimed at young scholars in the fields of information science, basic science, and interdisciplinary disciplines.

The current scope of the selection covers a wider range of scientific and technological fields, including but not limited to:

Mathematics and physics, chemistry and materials, astronomy and geology, life sciences and medicine, information science and engineering, emerging interdisciplinary disciplines, etc.

As the scope expanded, the number of winners naturally increased accordingly, from no more than 10 people to no more than 30 people.

Simplify the registration materials to reduce the burden on the applicants

There are three main ways to register : self-registration, recommendation by others, and interview by the organizing committee.

Participants are required to send their personal information in a package to an email address, including their academic resume, personal representative works and achievements.

p.s. In order to reduce the burden on participants, recommendation letters/videos are optional materials.

If you know of outstanding young scholars around you, you can also recommend them by real name via email. If successful, the recommender can attend the award ceremony as a mentor.
