Gallium nitride (GaN) power devices have superior performance over traditional silicon power devices, allowing engineers to push the boundaries of power supply design and achieve new levels of power density and efficiency. From consumer applications such as AC/DC power supplies to three-phase converters with power of several kilowatts, the use of gallium nitride (GaN) power devices can reduce the weight, size and cost of these power supply designs while reducing energy consumption.
