LT8228

100V Bidirectional Buck/Boost Controller with Protection

Hybrid and electric vehicles often use both 12V and 48V batteries, but without redundancy, critical systems can fail if a battery fails.

The LT8228 provides redundant multiphase sustainable power in critical non-powertrain subsystems through bidirectional 48V and 12V battery control.

It also enables full functional safety if one of the batteries or phases fails, either by forcing the other battery to take over, or by removing the faulty phase from the system, allowing the vehicle to continue functioning normally without potentially serious consequences.

The LT8228 provides power redundancy by disconnecting the 12V battery from the 48V battery during a system fault and removing the faulty phase from the circuit during a component failure. This combination of ADI power redundancy and safety makes the LT8228 the perfect bidirectional DC/DC controller for your dual battery automotive needs.
