ADI and Accelink Technologies Sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Jointly Release Next-Generation Pluggable OTDR Engine
Recently, ADI and Accelink Technologies, a leading international optical component provider, signed a memorandum of understanding on business cooperation at the OFC exhibition in Los Angeles, USA, and jointly released the next generation of pluggable OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer) engine.
Through the joint innovation of the two parties in the past few years, relying on ADI's top analog chip design innovation capabilities, combined with the unique technology and algorithm of Accelink Technologies, the latest small-size pluggable OTDR products released by Accelink Technologies will be able to monitor the fiber distance to 150km, and the monitoring capability has greatly exceeded the various small-size products currently released. Thanks to the significant improvement in key technical indicators, the application scope of this type of small-size OTDR products will be greatly expanded, and the new generation of engines will also help accelerate the industry's deployment of embedded OTDR products.
Jin Zhengwang, deputy general manager of Accelink Technologies, Xu Hongchun , deputy general manager of the business unit, and Shu Le, head of the purchasing department, attended the signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation on the next-generation pluggable OTDR engine, as well as Charles ORoark, general manager of the ADI communications business unit, Jonathan Goldberg, marketing director of the business unit, and David Sun, sales manager of the communications business unit in China, and had extensive exchanges on the application prospects of the engine, which marked that the cooperation between the two parties in the field of optoelectronics will become closer and deeper.
If the optical network is compared to a highway that extends in all directions, then the OTDR product is undoubtedly the navigator on this "highway". This "navigator" can display the safety status of each section of the road on the "highway" in real time, and provide a visual link quality presentation method for the operator of the "highway". It can further provide infrastructure-level protection for various businesses operating on the link. Equipment manufacturers and system integrators can develop an optical network automatic navigation system based on this "navigator" to contribute to the intelligence of optical networks.
As a co-developer of the new generation of OTDR engines, Accelink Technologies has become the world's first leading supplier equipped with this engine, and exhibited the first product equipped with this engine at OFC2019. The successful launch of this product not only demonstrates Accelink Technologies' deep accumulation of optoelectronic technology, but also reflects Accelink Technologies' long-term focus on in-depth joint development of forward-looking technologies with top global partners, and the good vision of jointly creating a healthy industry ecology and achieving win-win results for all parties through various means such as strategic cooperation. As a world-leading high-performance analog technology company, ADI is also committed to helping customers solve the most difficult design problems and build a bridge between reality and digital in the new generation of optical network market.
