ADI low dropout regulators are essential for cleaner and faster communications
Analog Devices introduces two families of low dropout regulators (LDOs) that offer ultralow noise performance to eliminate system interference noise and improve receiver, transmitter, and audio quality.

ADP176x and ADP715x target applications include wireless base stations, wired communications, industrial instrumentation, high-end audio equipment, and medical equipment.
These new devices provide cleaner supply rails, faster transient response, and higher power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) for noise-sensitive precision analog and RF applications, especially when higher data rates are required.
Low-Dropout Regulators Enable Cleaner, Faster Communications
In many applications, higher data rates require cleaner supply rails to drive sensitive semiconductor devices. These issues become more pronounced as speeds increase and geometries decrease from 65 nm to 28 nm or less.
The ADP176x and ADP715x LDOs support an expanding number of noise-sensitive applications, including RF transceivers, voltage-controlled oscillators, phase-locked loop frequency synthesizers, clocks, and high-speed ADCs/DACs. These latest LDOs also reduce PCB size and cost by eliminating the need for additional passive components, including additional external filters and bypass capacitors.
ADP176x and ADP715x LDOs offer excellent noise and PSRR performance
-
The ADP176x family provides up to 3 A of output current with an operating output voltage range of 0.5 V to 1.5 V. The lower operating voltage output combination meets the high current core rail requirements of many emerging applications.
-
The ADP715x family supports a 1.2 V to 3.3 V output range with industry-leading 1.6 µVrms performance (10 Hz to 100 kHz), while extending the LDO output current range from noise to up to 2 A with ultra-low sub-2 µVrms (100 Hz to 100 kHz) performance.
This combination of ultra-low noise and high PSRR performance sets a new benchmark for higher LDO power levels.
