How can ADI and Renesas collaborate on automotive radar technology to make ADAS and autonomous driving beyond all possibilities?
Analog Devices and Renesas Electronics Corporation, a leading global supplier of semiconductor solutions, will collaborate on a system-level 77/79-GHz RADAR sensor demonstrator to improve advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) applications for autonomous vehicles.
The new demonstration combines two cutting-edge technologies, including the RH850/V1R-M microcontroller (MCU) of the Renesas Autonomy platform and the advanced 28nm CMOS RF-to-bit technology of ADI's Drive360. The
seamless collaboration of these two technologies at the system level can detect small, fast-moving objects at a longer distance in advance, thereby achieving safer driving. It will also reduce the difficulty of RADAR system integration and the evaluation risk of automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
"RADAR sensors are critical to any ADAS or autonomous driving function. This collaboration perfectly combines the best resources of Analog Devices and Renesas to achieve high performance, enabling OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to reduce development costs and shorten time to market. We are pleased to work with Analog Devices, whose 28nm solutions provide excellent RF performance for object detection."

ADI Drive360 28nm CMOS RADAR Technology
The Drive360 28nm CMOS RADAR technology platform is built on ADI's proven ADAS, MEMS, and RADAR technology portfolio, which has been widely used in the automotive industry for the past 20 years. Drive360 uses the world's first automotive RADAR technology based on advanced 28nm CMOS, applying excellent RF performance to target recognition and classification, revolutionizing sensor performance for ADAS applications. ADI's high-performance RADAR solution can detect small, fast-moving objects in advance. High output power enables recognition of smaller objects at a wider range, while very low phase noise enables the clearest detection of small objects in the presence of large objects.
