Abstract: There are two methods to measure frequency: direct measurement and indirect measurement. Direct measurement is to measure the number of cycles of the measured signal within a given time. The accuracy of direct measurement varies with the measured frequency. Indirect measurement is to indirectly calculate the frequency by measuring the time occupied by an integer number of cycles of the measured signal, which has the characteristics of equal accuracy. The hardware of the measurement circuit can be composed of a single-chip microcomputer, CPLD and external circuits. The core circuit is implemented by CPLD, and the CPLD function is described by VerilogHDL language. [Author Abstract]
