This paper introduces a new device, the drift step recovery diode (DSRD), from the basic requirements of high-power ultra-wide spectrum for high-speed switching. It introduces the basic structure, working mechanism, and typical circuit of DSRD in detail, simulates the circuit by computer, analyzes the signal characteristics and system response, and briefly explains the power synthesis method for ultra-wide spectrum detection and interference applications. Finally, it looks forward to the development direction of DSRD.
