The algorithm of the motion estimation and compensation unit (MECU) in the video codec chip is complex. The process of building models and model verification using traditional hardware description languages is cumbersome and time-consuming. In order to shorten the chip verification time, this paper proposes a specific system-level verification process based on the SystemC language for the MECU module. In the entire chip verification work, in order to achieve collaborative verification of the MECU module and other external modules at a low abstraction level, the verification process proposed in this paper takes advantage of SystemC\'s ability to model at different abstraction levels and refines the data transmission control port of the MECU module. The simulation results show that compared with the verification method using traditional hardware description languages, the verification process based on SystemC is simple and effective, greatly shortening the modeling and verification time.
