This paper mainly introduces the granary monitoring system which integrates temperature, humidity monitoring and alarm functions by using RS-485 bus technology with PC as the core. A zero-delay RS-232/RS-485 intelligent converter is designed, and the communication protocol between the host computer and the lower microcontroller is formulated to realize the communication between the host computer and the lower computer, so as to achieve the purpose of remote monitoring. In the VC++2005 development environment, the serial port communication with the lower microcontroller is realized by using API programming, and the SQL database is accessed by ADO to realize the storage, query, drawing and printing of the collected data. In the process of granary management, the most important thing is to control the temperature and humidity in the granary, which will directly affect the storage quality of grain. Large grain silos in my country have basically realized the automation of measurement, control and management, while the automation level of most small and medium-sized grain silos is still very low, and the storage conditions and management methods are still very backward. It is of great significance to develop a grain silo monitoring system that is economical, efficient, easy to operate and more cost-effective. The distributed grain silo monitoring system composed of RS-485 bus has the advantages of simple equipment, low price, and long-distance communication. It combines the rich software and hardware resources of the PC host computer and also uses the powerful computer database processing and analysis capabilities to provide an operation control platform with powerful management functions and a user-friendly human-machine interface [1].
