FPGA technology is widely used in many fields, especially in the field of wireless communication. More and more engineers choose FPGA when designing digital integrated circuits. The design method using VHDL for design input has the characteristics of being independent of devices, easy to transplant, and can speed up the design. Therefore, the combination of VHDL and FPGA devices can greatly improve the flexibility and efficiency of design, shorten the product development cycle, and accelerate the time to market. This project originated from a part of the Hisense TETRA terminal project. It designed and implemented the interface module design of the TETRA terminal baseband circuit and the RF circuit. The content includes the design of the logic port, SPI bus, VCO, knob module, and clock/synchronous pulse interface module, and realized the control interface expansion of the main processor to the peripherals. This paper first introduces the FPGA technology and its development status and trends in detail, as well as the field programmable devices selected in this project. At the same time, it introduces the VHDL language and its characteristics and the ISE software used in the development in detail. The design of each FPGA interface module, the interception of the timing simulation waveform, the configuration of the FPGA, the integration of each functional module, and the overall test results and conclusions are discussed in detail.
