The response of a quartz piezoelectric crystal (PQC) sensor with a sensitive coating of resorcinol calix[4]arene to the neurotransmitter dopamine and ascorbic acid in a neutral phosphate buffer system was studied. It was found that resorcinol calix[4]arene had a good selectivity for dopamine, which was attributed to the matching of the molecular structure of resorcinol calix[4]arene and dopamine to form a host-guest supramolecular system. The PQC sensor with resorcinol calix[4]arene as a coating had the characteristics of fast response, good reproducibility and high sensitivity to dopamine in the liquid phase, and the linear response range was 3.5-500μgPg.
