This book is revised on the basis of \"Electric Motor Design\" (Volumes 1 and 2) published in 1982. The book is divided into fourteen chapters. The first nine chapters mainly explain the basic theories and calculation methods of rotating motor design, including electromagnetic calculation, ventilation and heat calculation, mechanical calculation, noise and vibration calculation, etc. Chapters 10 and 11 respectively introduce the electromagnetic design of induction motors and the application of computers in motor design calculations. Chapters 12, 13 and 14 mainly explain the electromagnetic design of transformers and temperature rise calculations. In order to meet the needs of teaching, the book also includes calculation examples of induction motor and transformer design and source code for electromagnetic design of induction motors. This book is a textbook for motor majors in colleges and universities, and can also be used as a reference for relevant engineering and technical personnel and teaching researchers.
